Though Resin was a very busy wolf, she had noticed Gwynevere's interest in healing. Passing the old library, the ashen woman had noted that the girl was slowly turning the space into her own little healing ward. Resin was proud of the girl for taking the initiative. Gwyn never asked for anything and often went about gathering items and setting things up on her own. She was a self sufficient lady, just like her mother.

It was time to see just how much Gwyn had been working at her skills. During her tussle with the hyenas, Resin had ripped open the wounds in her chest and neck that had been inflicted by the sabertooth cats. Padding up the stairs, the bloodied woman made her way to the doorway into the old library. Lifting one paw, she scratched the door twice, alerting the girl to her presence before moving into the room. The maned fae had something grasped between her teeth. When her eye landed on her daughter, she moved towards her, placing the tied bundle of fur in front of the dark furred girl.

"Gwynevere," she rumbled before placing a lick upon the forehead of the child. Black backed ears perked as she dipped her head, motioning to the bundle. "I traded one of the alpacas for some herbs. I thought you might be able to use them." With winter refusing to cease, she knew that Gwyn would have little to no new plants coming in. Hopefully this would perk her daughter up a bit.

Gwyn was resting on the bench that stretched across the width of the wide, picture window along one wall of her room, chatting and plotting future changes to her small healing ward with Eilwen. It was starting to shape up pretty well with two smaller mattresses she was able to scavenge from some of the rooms in the areas of the castle that had decayed more than others and all the storage she had created on the lower shelves of the bookcases. Collecting enough herbs and supplies to fully stock her new space had been a struggle with the continuing, oppressing winter weather, but slowly bit by bit she was managing to get at least the area itself into a state that she was pretty happy with. She was just talking to her white raven companion about asking her brothers to help her gather a couple more furs to make the beds a bit more plush when she heard scratching at the partially open door.

The unexpected sound made her ears perk and she cast her marbled gaze toward the door curiously, smiling and hopping down from her perch when she saw her mom walk through the door. Her smile faltered a bit when she saw the blood that stained Resin's neck and chest, but she wasn't given a chance to question it right away as she was greeted with a lick on her forehead and a bundle of some sort was placed in front of her. Her mint and lavender eyes widened in shock and surprise when she heard that one of the alpacas had been traded for these herbs and while she felt bad that such a big trade had to be made to get them, she couldn't deny the excitement she felt at the fact that she would have more herbs to add to her stores. She grinned happily, her tail wagging behind her as she reached up to give Resin's chin a grateful lick. "Thank you! I'll definitely use them!" She quickly unrolled the bundle that had been gifted to her and her face lit up as she started to sort through the stems of herbs and nudge them into neater piles that she was sure they had been in at one time. Horsetail, marigold, lamb's ear, lavender, willow bark... None of them were rare herbs by any means, but they were all extremely useful and she was so grateful to have them.

Once the initial surprise at her gift dissipated she remembered her mother's wounds and she looked up at them with a little furrow of concern on her brow. "Let me patch those up for you while you're here," she insisted, nodding her head to one of the fur covered mattresses that laid in the middle of the room. She carefully picked up her gift and carried it over to the shelf where she had stored most of her herbs so far, laying the bundle out in front of the shelf so that she could file them all away later. For now she focused on the task at hand and started picking out the few she would want to use now. "Eilwen? Will you bring over my rags, please?" she called over to the raven without looking up from her supplies. The strips of cloth had been draped over the lower rungs of the ladder where Eilwen liked to perch so it was easy for the bird to climb down to them, catching them between her talons before flying across the room and dropping them beside Gwyn. "There you are, miss Gwynevere," she replied, gliding back over to her perch.

Gwyn picked them up along with the herbs she would use, walking over to where her mother had settled and setting them down before trotting to the other side of the room to pick up a bowl and a water skin to add to her supplies. Once everything was gathered and the bowl was filled, she wrapped one of the strips of cloth around one of her paws several times before dipping it in the water and beginning to gently dab and swipe around the reopened wounds to clean away any blood that had collected in her fur. "What happened?" she questioned, glancing up at her mom before refocusing on her task.

The girl was excited to receive the herbs and Resin was pleased that she'd brought a smile to her daughters face. Gwynevere sat the herbs aside and stared at her mother's wounds. It seemed that she wanted to deal with them herself. Resin had no qualms with letting her do as she wished, so when the girl motioned to one of the mounded fur pallets, the one-eyed fae made her way to the closest one and settled down upon it.

Resin watched as Gwyn went through her process. She collected her things and came back to the wounded woman's side. Resin kept calm, uttering not a sound as her reopened wounds were tended to. The little medic in the making was gentle yet thorough. Just by this simple interaction, it was evident that Gwynevere Carpathius would be an accomplished herbalist and healer.

Gwyn asked about the events that brought about the reopened wounds. "Hyenas on the plains. Artorias and I dispatched them. No need to worry." There was an uncommon softness on the fae's face as she continued to watch Gwyn at her craft. She was proud of the girl for taking this space and making it her own. She was proud of her for choosing a path that was beneficial to the pack.

Gwynevere nodded quietly when Resin informed her that the wounds had been caused by some hyenas that she and Artorias had taken care of. She silently made a mental note to go check on her brother once she was done here just in case. She was certain that if he had any wounds that needed patching up he would have come to her already since she had done so for a majority of his cuts and bites lately, but it would still put her more at ease if she went to see to him herself. That was the problem with being a healer in a family of a bunch of fighters. She was pretty much constantly worried about them since she never knew when she might need to patch one of them up. She was happy to do so of course, but that did make her feel like she always needed to be on her toes.

She finished cleaning the dried blood out of her mother's fur and made sure the cuts themselves were clean before slipping the cloth off of her paw and letting it fall into the bowl of now bloody water before she nudged it off to the side. With that done she pulled over a little container of crushed up marigold, dandelion roots, and willow bark that she had spent some time mixing up a few days prior. It seemed to be more helpful to have this mix on hand instead of having to mash them up every time so this little jar made things a lot faster. She dipped a paw pad into the medicine and started gently dabbing it along the wound, carefully coating the exposed flesh.

When she was working she was very dedicated and focused to her craft so she hardly ever looked up from what she is doing. Even though she was quickly getting more skilled in healing, she still didn't feel like she could do anything without complete focus just out of fear of messing something up or hurting someone accidentally. She didn't know if she'd ever get to a point where she could relax and treat someone, but hopefully so. Between applications of the herb mixture, she happened to glance up at her mother and was surprised to see the soft, kind touch to the usually firm woman's expression. It made her double take briefly, but pulled a smile onto her face as her cheeks flushed a bit before she refocused on her task.

She noted the flushed look that took over the shy girl's features and a soft chuckle rumbled from the woman's chest. As her daughter began to work again, Resin extended one foreleg and pulled the girl close, placing a kiss between her ears. "I'm proud of you, Gwyn. You'll be a great healer some day. I can tell." She then released the child that looked so much like her mother, allowing her to go back to her task.

Once the wound was dealt with, Resin rose from her place upon the furs. She didn't like being idle, even at her age. The thickly furred fae gave her ashen pelt a shake when she stood, then fixed her daughter with a singular look. "If you need anything for your infirmary, let your mother or I know. We'll get you what you need." Both Resin and Tamsyn would encourage Gwyn to continue her hard work, her learning, her training. The Hallows needed good healers just as it needed good fighters and crafters. Seeing how far she'd come already, Resin had no doubt that Gwynevere would be a master healer in the blink of an eye.

If she had been surprised by how Resin was looking at her as she worked on her cuts, she was even more surprised when she felt a strong limb wrap around her and pull her close. She had to pause her work for a moment, blinking as she looked up at her mother as Resin spoke of her pride and her confidence in Gwyn's ability to be a great healer one day. A touched smile pulled across the girl's muzzle and her ears folded back against her head shyly. She never really felt as useful or as favored as some of her siblings that had taken to the path of being a strong fighter and protector like Artorias or Rudyard, even though - as Artorias had pointed out to her multiple times - that just wasn't true and was just in her head. She just saw how hard both of her mothers had worked to protect the pack and remembered how helpless she had felt when the saber cats attacked them and thought for sure that her being a healer didn't mean as much as their skills as fighters. Hearing her mother praise her like this meant a lot and she swallowed hard as she tried to keep the tears that threatened to form at bay.

Returning to her task before she could get too emotional, she quickly finished up applying the herbs to the exposed flesh on Resin's wounds before picking up a piece of horsetail and crewing it up enough to make a paste out of it. She then went to work carefully stealing the cuts with the sticky substance, making sure it was well covered so hopefully they wouldn't open up again before they had a chance to start healing up properly. "There... That should do it," she mentioned with a satisfied smile. Her mother got up almost immediately - always on the move, always needing to be doing something. She lifted her gaze to meet Resin's, smiling again when she instructed her to tell her or momma what she needed. "I will... Thank you," she replied with a nod, feeling her chest puff up a bit with pride. Before her mother could leave, Gwyn hopped up and went to nuzzle into Resin's neck for a moment, her tail wagging happily behind her. She wasn't really the most affectionate of pups usually and between Resin and Tamsyn she knew Resin wasn't the most affectionate either, but she just wanted to enjoy the moment with her mother for a moment before she went back to her tasks around the pack and Gwyn went back to her studies. "I love you," she said softly before she pulled away again, smiling up at her mother adoringly.
