Álarr listened as one by one everyone offered their ideas. He nodded to Sparrow. "Yes, I was trying to think of difficult terrain nearby but the closest would be the plateau. Unless perhaps we could keep them going long enough." There were a number of crevices and caverns in the Barren Hills but it was such a dangerous place he didn't think going there would be a good idea. Nor the pitfall. "Perhaps the Whisperer's Gorge? I think we might be able to keep them running long enough to get there." While there were caves and caverns among it there were plenty of long sections that dropped right down to where an ancient river had flowed through and carved the gorge.

He considered Ash's idea but he wasn't quite sure what would work best. The suggestion of poison was an interesting one but it would be tricky to dose the large creatures in enough of a way to have an effect on them but not the wolves themselves when it came to eating. Being so unfamiliar with these creatures he didn't know of a good poison to suggest.

Disembowling the creatures wouldn't be as simple as it would be for a bison. They were so hairy and would likely need to be climbed in some fashion to even get to the underbelly if it wasn't brought down first. Cloud suggested a trip line or a net while Ares mentioned digging holes. Álarr pondered the options.

"My concern is still with their size. I don't know that a net will do much and a trip line could easily snap. A hole might work better. It would have to be the size of the entire mammoth just enough to snag a leg. However, even then that will be a substantial amount of digging so let's use what nature has given us. I say we try and drive them to the Whisperer's Gorge with enough momentum to drive one of the animals into it. If there are weapons anyone wants to suggest then let's utilize them, spears or whatever else. We just need to get them going and then keep them going. Any that feel comfortable, climbing and doing more severe damage are welcome to if they are 2 years or older." He squinted pointedly at Dagrún then proceeded to speak over her protests. "Ares, you sir," he looked at Hyacinth. "Would you be comfortable heading the gorge ahead of time and laying in wait to start delivering damage the moment one falls in? We'll be aiming for the wider north pocket right before the fork. Everyone else will work on driving the mammoths toward you. If one appears sickly we'll try and break it off from the herd and do as much damage as possible. If it dies before it reaches the gorge it dies but there's no need to take extreme risks if we can get mother nature to do the most work for us. Sound good?"

Dagrún was mostly ok with Álarr's idea. Hurt 'em enough to make them stampede toward a cliff and hope one of them fell in. Ok, sure. However, she wasn't super pleased with not being able to climb one. She scowled when he looked at her before giving him a piece of her mind. "That's not fair! If Torrent and Sparrow can disembowel it then I want to to!" He didn't seem to be paying attention, instead speaking over her. Oh, the nerve! She was going to leave something unpleasant in his den. She didn't know what yet but she was going to make sure it was something good. Another option might be stealing some of his herbs but she knew that would be taken more seriously in this harsh time of a seemingly never-ending winter.

Sparrow was happy to sit back and let Alarr do all the thinking. She was capable herself, but this was just so much easier. Besides, there was no way she was going to let an opportunity to be lazy on the planning but still in all the action pass her by. He spoke his thoughts and offered that some of them could climb the beast if they felt like it. Sparrow nodded, tongue lolling out of her maw, "Hell yea." That gave her one main task, just find the bitch and climb it. The plan was simple on her end- she liked that. Even more, it proved her a valuable asset, which she already knew, but it was good to have it pointed out in case anyone forgot. Just kidding, she thought, everyone was equally important and all that jazz. "Let's hunt some big guys!"

Sparrow has a female Harlequin Macaw named Pongolo and a male Capuchin monkey named Friar, and a hairless mushroom tuxedo cat named Beef Sandwich. She also has cat claws... and some weird leg spike things.

Ashmedai watched as the suggestions came in and how Alarr pondered him. For a brief moment, he had trouble wrapping his head around the fact that these guys used to be little pups running around. To think they were all grown up and planning big hunts and things... man it made him feel old. He knew he wasn't young, sure, why not, but to just remember these used to be tiny little things and they were off planning to hunt mammoths now. Well, he was still here and physically capable. He was proud of the kiddos, and had no desire to prove himself or shove himself to the top anymore. He let Alarr do the reasoning and the coaching and simply nodded along. He was ready.

His concern that anyone who climbed the giant beasts could just be crushed to death seemed to be mostly shrugged off so he also just shrugged, the only one of these wolves he really cared about what his king and if she felt she wasn't at risk then he wouldn't quibble about it, though he also wasn't going to offer to help pull out poor trapped wolves at this point. His attention snapped to the blue marked male with horns, nodding as he was asked to lay in wait. That worked for him just fine, less likely to get all gross and sweaty like that anyways. He grinned, nodded and gave a verbal response: "Can do." He glanced across at the wolf who'd been asked to do this task with him.

Asvor was patient as she sat and listened for the ideas to roll in. Álarr responded to each in turn, thinking them through. This was an unfamiliar situation for them all and they'd have to be crafty with what they decided to do. Some suggested running them to trickier terrain, which was a good idea. He seemed to not give much attention to her idea, but it didn't bother her in the slightest. Sometimes bouncing idea off each other was the only way to come to a concrete solution. And finally they had a semblance of a plan. Running them into dangerous terrain was the best option, specifically the gorge not far from here.

In the meantime they'd have to prepare. Asvor wasn't sure she'd have time to concoct any sort of poison that would have any effect on these massive beasts but maybe she could come up with a weapon of sorts. She'd definitely put on her helmet, though that wouldn't do much damage to a mammoth at least it'd offer her some marginal protection. Other than that, though Ares was tasked with laying in wait the rest would have to drive the herd and try to pick one apart from it, doing as much damage as they could in the process. Asvor nodded in agreement, brainstorming what she could possibly do to help speed up their hunt.

Honestly, there were a lot of good suggestions, but all mostly ones that would've likely worked for large game that...weren't as large as the ones they were going to hunt. While yes, he was a seasoned hunter, even he had never hunted something quite so massive. He wasn't upset or anything when his idea of a trip line might not work, and in al honesty, it made sense. Though he then started to think more critically of the creatures. He was eager to see their movement and behavior up close and in action, so he was fine with chasing the beasts to the two that Alarr had named so he could study them. If Cloud was anything, it was a calculated hunter. He only had to hunt something once and observe their behavior and movements to know exactly how to take one down. He supposed that was the gift that came with his cursed demon. He nodded as he waited to move with the others, eager for the hunt to begin.

Ares wasn't the best hunter out there, but he'd be damned if he looked like a fool with so many eyes watching. When Alarr assigned him to go on ahead with another, he nodded. "Yeah I'm cool with that," He sounded unenthusiastic as was his usual but in truth, he was excited to get his teeth and claws dirty. He had never hunted something to big before so this was gonna be a treat for sure. He glanced towards the male that he was gonna be going with, offering a quirky smile to the guy before rolling his neck and shoulders. He was definitely ready. His mouth salivated at the thought of taking a bite out of one of these creatures, and he honestly couldn't wait for this thing to start.

Katja, having fallen silent, simply watched and listened as the elder wolves planned amongst themselves. As she'd expected, the younger wolves were relegated to the background, the older wolves being given real jobs and instructions while they were more or less to stay out of the way. Well, Katja didn't have long teeth or claws like her littermate did anyway, but even so she would be just as much use as any of the adults who didn't themselves bear mutataions. She lifted her slender, sharp boned head, jaw firming. They'd prove themselves, eventually. They were viking warriors, young yes but not puppies to be kept from danger. They would learn.

Alarr weighed all the options and came up with a plan, as Torrent had known he would. It wasn't as glorious and death-defying as she had hoped it would be, but Alarr was a wiser head than she was. She knew what she was good for - fighting, and killing. Not planning out who should be fought and killed. Not so much planning out how to do it. So they'd chase it off a cliff and let Ares and the other brightly colored stranger (she passed him another mistrusting glare for good measure) finish it off. She rolled her shoulders in thoughtful anticipation as she continued to pace, ready to just get going and do this.
