I am tentatively offering a litter of orphaned pups up for adoption, to be raised by Tornach Adravendi until he dies of old age in the autumn. If there is interest and apps I really like, I am willing to adopt out a few pups as siblings to Corbie here, but if not I am perfectly fine with bringing her in alone.

They will be about three months old when Tornach finds them starving near their mother's grave, old enough to be weaned but young enough not to be able to feed themselves, and he will take them in then. So they will be old enough to remember their mother, but only that she was a loner named Magpie who had always been a bit sickly and died of pneumonia. She had been something of a brewer, specializing in mead from her bees but knowledgable in other forms of alcoholic beverage, so her pups would have been exposed to the craft young (though not to have sampled any beyond a taste once in a while, as she didn't approve of pups drinking alcohol and didn't approve of anyone drinking to excess). Corbie will experiment with beekeeping and brewing as they get older so it is an option for a sibling as well.

Tornach will raise them to be farmers, maybe healers, and while he knows enough of fighting from his youth to teach any of his young wards to be fighters if they want he isn't going to encourage it beyond being able to protect themselves.

He has given up on his elk project after the volcano-induced wildfire decimated his herd and left the remainder (and himself) lame, and now has a flock of sheep that his collie companion, Tam, helps herd and protect. They are semi-nomadic as they slowly herd the sheep through new pasturage over time, so his old projects with raising hares and various fowl have also been given up on, but he can teach the pups about raising them as well.

He will introduce the pups to his family in Valhalla early on and they will be raised knowing them and they will definitely be taught the Irish he grew up speaking, though they may or may not be fluent in it. He may find them teachers in Valhalla if they want to learn something he isn't knowledgeable in (crafting, for instance) and if Aurielle is amenable. When he is dying he will bring them to Valhalla to give them the option of staying there and continuing their learning, or to make their own way in the world. Either way, there will be a solid link there with Valhalla as non-specific "family".

Tornach will not be adopting them as his own children since he has no wish to supplant their real parents and will be just their guardian. They can choose to call him what they feel comfortable with (Corbie will call him Da) but would not necessarily consider themselves Adravdeni as they have not been adopted in. They can choose to refer to themselves as Adravendi or not (Corbie will not) since their mother didn't have a surname to pass to them.
