Kirsi was at peace. It was rare these days she ever felt truly tranquil; her children were curious, growing creatures who threatened her sanity each day, not because they were terribly difficult children, but just because - because of who she was, rather than how they were. As they grew older they grew bolder, more curious, and it was becoming increasingly hard to keep an eye on them at all times. With their newfound, ever-growing freedom came more and more anxiety on her part, but she tried her best to stifle it, even if she didn't do the best job at it sometimes.
But right now? She was calm, having crept away from her family while they slept peacefully not far off. She wouldn't go further than a few yards away, just far enough to stretch her legs and get some air. Being cramped up with Song and their children was something she was still getting used to, and though she wouldn't trade it for the world (and she knew she'd miss it once they were too old to stay in the family den), that didn't mean she didn't need some breathing room sometimes. She took in a deep breath of the frigid morning air, content to slowly rouse to full wakefulness as the sun just began to creep over the horizon, casting the world in its gentle light, beaming down from between the treetops.
