So, Uh... Surprise?

Being in heat for the first time had been a powerful thing. Asla had done some things with a couple of wolves and now she was good and pregnant. Her belly had begun to swell despite the constant training. There had been a few days of nausea. Her mood was, well, absolutely the same, so that had nothing to do with it. Mostly though, there was a feeling. Some womanly part of her knew. She hadn't yet been to a healer because there was a possibility that the packs healer was the father. It was a little awkward. Why hadn't she gotten knocked up by a non-pack member? Hmmph. She needed to tell her dad though and imagined that he would take the news quite well. (Dripping sarcasm) The young woman moved across the grassy plains and towards the den where her father resided. If he was there, she wouldn't have to call for him. If he wasn't there, then she'd have to make a scene, call for him, wait, ugh. Popping her head into the family den, Asla tentatively called for her father. "Uh... Dad?" Grey ears tucked against her skull. There was a possibility that this would be her last day in the Armada. She'd kind of gone against the rules, but she also hadn't been thinking about the rules in the midst of raging hormones. If he kicked her out, she'd just go to The Hallows with Indy. That was her fallback plan. Asla had faith in her father though and hoped that he would be reasonable. "Speech" |

I don't deserve to have you
He was sleeping in a makeshift den just far enough from the main family home that his nightmares wouldn’t wake anybody. He was lounging in the entrance, taking a break from patrols when a voice called out for him. It was a short distance away, but recognising the voice he got his paws. “Over here Asla” he called out to his oldest daughter.
He stretched, feeling the slight twinges of his healing body, before stepping out to meet her. It was a short walk to Asla, and as he approached he saw a hint of trepidation on her face. With… the amount of blows the Fatalis family seemed to be receiving lately, it wouldn’t surprise him if she had bad news.
In preparation for such a thing, he stopped right into her personal space and drew her into a hug. Breathing in the scent of her as he wrapped his chin around her shoulder. Mine. He thought softly.

The voice of her father came from behind her and Asla turned, giving him a slightly sheepish grin as he came towards her. Instantly, the giant scooped her up into his arms just like she was a pup again and, as usual, Asla laughed softly. The striped fae buried her face into her father's fur, simply enjoying the fact that he was here, alive, and mostly well. Things needed to be said, however, so she didn't linger. Pulling back, Aslatiel looked up at her father's blue gaze with swirling purple eyes. "I'm going to speak plainly, papa..." she began, still somewhat nervous about his reaction to the situation. Ears tucked back as she continued. She'd try not to get too girly or give too many details. "So... I'm technically an adult now. First heat. Super hard." She stressed the 'super' because it truly had been. "Did some things." Fuck, this was both awkward and difficult. She winced, one eye squinting as she uttered the next words. "So I'm furthering the Fatalis bloodline as expected. You're going to be a grandpa." Fuck and fuck. She couldn't even look him in the face now. Part of her felt like she let him down. Another part of her felt like it was just a weird thing to talk about with your dad. "Speech" |

She leaned into him, and gently kissed her forehead. Letting her go when she pulled back. He could tell from the getgo that she had something to tell him. He was… a little tentative about what it could be. He knew he couldn’t take much more rocking. He was holding it together for her, for their family, but there was still a hint of madness lurking beneath the surface of the Warlord.
She began to speak, and plant was good. The Warlord wasn’t the sort to beat around the bush. She was an adult now, and had proved it in leading the pack in his absence. But… first heat? He narrowed his eyes at her. Did someone go sniffing after his girl? Heads would roll
Wait… did she say… he blinked at Asla in surprise. Wishing… oh, gods, wishing for Zee beside him to hear this news for the first time. He blinked away the thought, forcing himself to live in the here and now. [i] Your…” [/b] no, wait. Important things first. “Was this… fully voluntary on your part, and are kids something you want?’ he locked out every single thought until he had his answer.

Bloody hell this was hard. The look of shock on his face made Asla lower her head like a scolded pup. She supposed there were things that could be done to end her pregnancy if he had that much of a difficult time with it, but they'd been told time and again growing up that it would be their duty to further the Fatalis bloodline. It was expected of them to have pups, heirs, royals, wolves of note. And so she was doing just that. Getting it out of the way early so that she could live the remainder of her life as she wished. Sirius questioned her and Asla huffed lightly. Fully voluntary? As if someone could force her? "It was voluntary, she assured him." As voluntary as hormones would allow her brain to get at that moment. He questioned whether kids were something that she wanted and Asla wrinkled her nose slightly. How could she even answer that? "I...know I'd have to have them eventually, so sooner is better. Get it out of the way. Never have to worry about pups again, right?" So, so awkward. She was kind of surprised that he hadn't asked who the culprit was yet so he could rip their heads off. "Speech" |

He let out a soft, slow breath. Asla was drip friend him the information, which made it more like pulling teeth then he would have liked. It was volunteer - and she didn’t seem terribly impressed about having kids. Furthering the line… that had been important to him once, hadn’t it?
He looked at Asla, and realised these kids were all that was left of Zee. what she was carrying, that was Zee’s legacy too. His eyes old and sad, he leaned forward, and kissed Asla on the cheek. “I give you my blessing to have these kids. The rules…. The rules apply to those that can get kicked out, and a Fatalis, an Asla… they are the lifeblood of the pack. If the rules are worrying you, stress not about them.” Now that that was out of the way…. “Is this man worthy of you, Asla? Or are we celebrating your pregnancy with a head rolling?”

Her father didn't seem as mad as she had expected. In fact, he seemed quite the opposite. Asla watched as the emotions ran over his features, then he pulled her in and kissed her on the cheek. The giant man gave his blessing, telling her that, for a Fatalis like herself, the rules didn't apply. Aslatiel grinned, leaning up to place a kiss upon her father's cheek in turn. "Thanks, Papa." His affection for her had outweighed the fact that his daughter was carrying pups. She was glad for that. He really was the best dad. The conversation shifted and Sirius asked about the father of her pups, asking if they were worthy. The small woman laughed aloud, teeth flashing in a grin. "Not remotely," she joked. "That's the other thing though..." More bad news? Awkward news? "They could either be Naiche's or Mojito's... so I guess it'll be a surprise for everyone. Yaaaay..." The cream and grey lady released an exaggerated grimace. "At least they're both high ranking members of the pack?" She tried to offer a silver lining to the possible sires of her brood. Asla had never been shy about her affections and where she bestowed them. Man, woman, you, them, her, him... She was a creature full of confidence and affection and sharing that affection with others brought her joy. Aslatiel was a sensual being and she wasn't shy about it. She just... didn't like talking about those things with her dad. "Speech" |

He wanted to hold tight to Asla, he wanted her kids to be raised surrounded by love and family and good things. He wished his own younger kids could be experiencing the same. Life was harsh and cruel, and the rosy glasses he had worn as Zees husband had given him the illusion of invincibility. Life wasn't fair, but by damn would he do everything he could to protect Asla and her unborn kids. That would start with ensuring the father knew the full extent of his responsibilities. If they weren't an Armada wolf, they were about to become one.
He straightened, waiting for the name, only to be given a surprise instead. He blinked slowly at Asla. He could see the embarrassment etched in the way she held herself. He processed the information slowly, and then came to a decision. It didn't matter who the father was, in sleeping with his daughter they had both opened themselves up to responsibility. They would, the both of them, do everything in their power to look after Asla and the children. Their responsibility, their burden, their privilege.
He tapped Asla under the chin. "Head up sweet girl, we are in this together" he promised her. No more slinking off to the Hallows, no more living in the horrors in his head. He had to do better. Just like he had promised Art, and was now silently promising to Asla.
