Lukina bounded toward the scene of her first match, tail wagging excitedly. She looked over her shoulder at Rœkia then frowned as she saw her cousin slinking off to go do something else. Well, fine! Lukina didn't need her cousin's support anyway. She entered the ring, her wagging tail slowing as she tucked it and set her defenses. She looked over at her opponent and smiled. She chose to wait til he was ready and when he gave her the signal she was all to happy to take the first move. Even if she didn't have anyone she cared about watching her she still wanted to show what she could do.

All of this was new to him, he had only had to defend himself from predators up until now. Did that make him better or less experienced? He did recognize Lukina from the bear fight they had together, though he didn't know many other wolves so his memory was good for the ones he had met. "It's nice to meet you again." Lukina smiled at the boy and shook her head. She knew they'd met before but she couldn't remember his name and she didn't quite want to let on she'd forgotten, if they'd even introduced themselves in the first place. "It's ok, this is my first tournament to. Don't hold back!" They'd both fought a bear so she was sure they could both kick ass. She just hoped she'd be strong enough to beat him. After all, he'd been much more brave and aggressive than she had.

The first move was given to her and she could feel the nerves warming her body and making her heart race. Ok, ok, first move. She shot forward then dove down low, head rotating to the side as she tried to bite the boy's right front leg where the deltoid connected. At the same time she shot her right front paw up and tried to scratch the boy's lower chest with her claws.

Close My Eyes And Wander In And Wait Until The Madness Ends ________________________________________ Lukina was just a bit bigger than himself, if anything nearly the same size but only because she was just a tiny bit younger than him. She was able to grab hold of his leg as she wanted, and he was reminded of the pain he had from the saber attack not that long ago. He had almost forgotten what a bite felt like. He after all had only had the one encounter with that saber and nothing else, no brawls with strangers or anyone in the pack. But it was definitely weird for him to think he had forgotten that pain. With Lukina's head and neck down lower since she went to attack his leg, he went for an aimed attack on the right side of her neck, closer to the back of her ear. He wasn't very rough with his attack, he didn't want to hurt her. But he also knew he couldn't play too nice and this was a tournament so he had to show his strengths in order to win. Just as he was moving down to bite her, her claws struck his chest and it hurt much more than the bite, but he wouldn't hesitate and instead he worked through the pain as he continued his attempted bite. Lukina immediately coiled her legs tight as her fangs found purchase on his leg. Yay! She succeeded… now what? Her claws raked the lower portion of the boys chest and she swiftly brought the leg back underneath her. She rolled her shoulders forward, scrunching fur and fat over the vitals of her neck as she tried to press close to the boys leg. Of course though, in such close proximity, there was nothing she could do to avoid his bite. She flinched as his fangs dug into the upper right side of her neck, digging into the flesh behind her ear. It stung and throbbed but she didn't really know what to do. She could try to pull free but that would make it hurt more. Though, she supposed that was just how it went. Lukina shifted her weight to her hind legs and right front leg as her left front claws lashed out blindly up. She attempted to strike the nearest cheek of her opponent and maybe startle him into letting her go. At the same time she continued to attempt to keep her grip on his leg though as soon as she could she planned to let go and try a different target.

Their ages were still young and they had a lot to learn, but battle seemed to come naturally for Lukina at least. Balthier was much more a hunter than a fighter, but he wanted to protect his family more than anything. Which is why he was here, fighting and learning so he could one day be a great warrior and keep his family safe. Lukina's paw met Balthier's cheek which stung just as much as her last scratch. He wasn't dwelling much on the thought though, the heat of battle was making the pain subside slightly for now. He released the bite from her scruff as her claws met him, but as she continued her grasp on his leg he knew he would have to move on to something else. His reach for where he had just bit her was a little too close to him now for him to crane his neck and try again, so instead he had the idea to do as she did and shift his weight to his hind legs and attempt to move his front legs the best he could so they could hug around her shoulders, even with her grasp on his leg. At the same time he aimed a bite towards the top of her right shoulder blade. This would be the final moments to see who had conquered who.
