Seeing his long-lost sibling had eased an old ache somewhat, and Paladin was glad that at least one of his brothers still lived. In his heart, he felt that Exodus and Fable were okay, and he hoped that they had found happiness in their lives, and that he might see more nieces and nephews someday before he passed on.

He padded into his alcove and plucked a pair of bundles from their slots and making his way to find Amory and Lee. They had decent early basics down, but if they wished to rise to the Masters of the Healer’s Circle, he would be working hard to ensure they learned well.

Viviane crossed his mind, and he made a note to check in on her later; but for now, he settled the two bundles, one at a time, near the fire as he came into the fire cave. It doubled as a crafting room, especially with how cold the world had been of late.

Moving back to the cave opening, he called, loudly enough to be heard through the cave tunnel and their alcoves and spurs, “Amory, Lee! Care to join me for a lesson?”

Paladin has a thick, Educated Irish Brogue type accent. It's understandable.

The world was still wrapped in the uncharacteristic cold air and today seemed especially nippy so Lee decided to spend some time in her alcove organizing her supplies and other items she had gathered. Everything was already very tidy before she began but the girl was very particular about every things location. The reddish brindled girl was so focused on her task that when her name was shouted down the main tunnel, she started with a gasp. "Goodness me" Lee muttered as she released a breath and flattened the fur on the back of her neck before she got up and padded towards Paladin. Lee smiled brightly as Paladin as she neared, her startled heart now beating with excitement of having a new lesson. It was no secret that Laoise wanted to become one of the best healers in the pack and she would never miss a chance to learn something new. "Of course Paladin! Thank you." Lee said to the light colored male with respect as she settled herself in front of one of the bundles that the older male had brought with him. She took a second to enjoy the warmth of the fire on her brindle pelt while they waited for Amory to join them.

Amory had been more or less tending to her own devices, mostly a lot of exploring beyond pack lands in search of herbs and knick-knacks to add to her collection. She had a lot of the basics for healing down, but she knew there was still a lot to learn yet. So when she heard Paladin call for her and her sister as she entered the den, her ears perked up and her tail wagged a bit. She was of course, eager to learn all that she could. So she quickly headed to her den first to drop off what she had before heading back to meet the others. With a warm smile and a soft nudge, she greeted her sister before sitting down and dipping her head respectfully towards Paladin. "Hello! What are we learning today?"

Paladin’s dark lips twitched as his ears caught the faint gasp from down the hall somewhere, recognizing Lee’s voice, soon enough the russet, gold and coal streaked girl slipped into the crafting room, and in a few minutes, Amorielle arrived. Paladin smiled lightly at the girls, nodding as he spoke, glancing aside to a lump tucked against the wall of the cave, shadowy in the firelight.

“Today, we’ll practice wound identification and care. Cairo and Ardyn were kind enough to hunt me down a boar for you to practice with. They also roughed it up a bit so we’d have wounds to examine. Now, some of these methods of wound repair may be difficult to do by paw, but should you end up befriending a primate like a lemur or monkey, the methods should be much easier to accomplish.”

His nodded to the bundles he’d set out, adding, “Why don’t you open your kits there? They have the tools and materials you’ll need.”

Leaving to examine the contents of their bundles – thin bone needles, long enough to be used with the teeth and still be able to see from the corner of one’s eye while making a suture, long threads of sinew stripped to be thin enough for the uses healers needed them for, bottles of salve made with herbs that had some numbing qualities, and strips of soft rabbit skins and pelts for wrapping or use as poultice pads, among other things – Paladin went to the boar and dragged it across the floor by one leg with a quiet old man’s grunt until it was in full light, especially once Kayode and Ime set up several oil lantern pots.

He waited for them to finish their investigations patiently, wanting them to take their time and learn rather than rushing them through things.

Lee's russet ears rolled forward when Paladin began to speak, informing them what the lesson would be about wound identification and care on a boar that her brother and Cairo had brought to them for their lesson. She smiled at the thought of her brother bring them a boar to learn on but her smile soon faded into a sad look when Lee realized that it meant the animal had been killed only for this purpose. Her dual tones blue eyes looked up from the wound repair kit as Paladin dragged the boar over in front of them. She observed the wounds that her brother and Sentinel caused the beast and after a moment for sad expression turned into one of determination I will not let your sacrifice be a waste. she thought, nodding slightly to herself before she stepped forward and lowered her face to the dead animal to get a closure look at the various scraps and scratches to the deeper gouges in the flesh. Some were just deep lacerations and other went all the way to the bone. Quietly the girl released a soft breath before stepped back slightly to allow her sister to also look over the area that Lee was closest.

She took her time to think about what she needed to do first. If this animal was alive then it would be bleeding and most of the blood would be pouring out of the laceration located on its thigh and at the base of its neck. Since she was at the rear end of the boar, Lee focused on the wounds in front of her. Her less dominate paw lifted and then pressed hard on to the deep wound on the boars thigh and she looked to the right at the various needles and salves she had available. Eventually she took her other paw and dipped it into the salve she new to help slow blood flow in wounds and smeared it into the wound quickly before returning her other paw and applying pressure once more, pretending that the wound was bleeding heavily. She glanced up at Paladin to see if she was doing the right thing before returning back to her work with a curled brow of concentration. "I need something better..." she mumbled under her breath as she paused to think what would have been better to use than the salve that she ad just applied. It would have worked better for more of the smaller cuts but this needed something more drastic. "Fire... to burn the wound close...." she mumbled under her breath again, her eyes glancing to fire in the lanterns. Perhaps that would work but she couldn't test it right now since the wound was not actually bleeding so she moved on to one of the smaller lacerations and set to work on that applying numbing salve and then a salve to help fight off infection. Again she glanced at Paladin for reassurance that she was doing good before carefully taking a bone needle in her jaws that was threaded with sinew and did her best to begin sewing the wound close. Her movements were slow and careful, deliberate as she worked trying to make sure she was placing them in the right place. She had a long way to go before she was able to sew shut any wound with any real grace or speed that only experience would provide.

Ears perked up as she listened to Paladin speak. Wound identification and care? That definitely sounded like fun! At least to her. For now. But that was probably because she wasn't having to do this in a real situation just yet, but on a boar that Cairo and their brother had been kind enough to harvest for them to practice on. "Oh, that certainly sounds delightful!" She stated with excitement, though quickly fell quiet. Was she weird for saying that? Maybe she was just excited to learn! She waited for her sister to examine the wounds the boar had, and when she was done, Amory stepped up to examine them herself. She looked the beast over with a critically observant eye, nothing minor wounds such as bruises, scrapes, and scratches, as well as the more major wounds like lacerations, deep cuts down to the bone, puncture wounds, and...what appeared to be flesh missing like it had been skinned a little (similar to how skin rubbed off if one were to slide on concrete).

She stepped back when she was done with her examination, though it seemed her sister was eager to get started already. Amory watched her sister open up her pack, taking items out and applying salves to a deeper wound on the dead boar. She frowned as her attention returned to the boar, wondering where she should begin and how to go about it. She carefully opened her pack, taking stock of all she had while she quietly listened to her sister's musings. Already she felt unnerved. Despite their patient being dead, she wasn't quite sure exactly what to start doing. It's not like she could ask a dead creature where it hurt, but she supposed in a situation like this, she didn't need to. She stepped up to the boar again, examining it once more before looking to Paladin. "I-I'm sorry, I'm not...quite sure where to begin..." She said with meek embarrassment. Why couldn't she have the confidence that her other siblings seemed to have?
