It was evident from their very first meeting that the cold northern climate didn't agree with Chrystelle. How could one live every day being unable to breathe? Ocean had expressed interest in taking his sister somewhere warmer. Somewhere where the air didn't sting her lungs like a thousand bees. How could Aslatiel deny such a request? She may have been a lot of things, but the young woman couldn't deny the plea of someone in need.

There was a fine line to dance when it came to wolves leaving a pack. Especially when they were leaving one pack and heading to another. Aslatiel could have just taken Ocean and Chrystelle without word and no one would be the wiser, but she decided to be diplomatic. She would speak to the alpha herself. If they didn't show, then at least she'd have made an effort.

The cream and grey fae howled for the leader. Asla hadn't asked Ocean about the wolf that claimed these lands. She wanted her first impression of the wolf to be pure and without outside influence. The way that the wolf approached would tell Aslatiel just how this situation would play out. Seated outside of the border beneath a tall pine, tail curled around one teal striped hip, she waited alone.

Ocean would do anything to help his sister feel better, to soothe her sickness and see her at full health and that wasn’t happening here. Her coughing was only getting worse and they hardly had the herbs to keep her sustained. He was afraid he was going to loose her the day that Aslatiel came. They had to part ways, he had to see to Chrystelle, but it wasn’t hardly any time at all before he heard Aslatiel’s sweet voice at the borders. Oce held nothing against Incendium or the wolves within, but he needed to do something for his sister. Anything. And when Aslatiel arrived with an out he was eager to grab it.

Not to mention being next to her when they went. She knew him even better than Chrys did, and helped him in ways his sister never could. Motif felt a huge hole in him, but Aslatiel had bandaged him and shared in his sorrow. She’d seen the emotions beneath and she returned to him despite them. He couldn’t help the smile that appeared on his features as he met her there, he felt a burning in his chest that he had forgotten existed. A burning passion for life that was kindled by the tiny teal marked woman.

Ocean gave her a low bow as he closed the distance and sat close beside her, certain Chrys would appear shortly.

The more her herb supply dwindled the more she suffered. She couldn't even manage to go out to hunt for more because the moment she did she began to cough again. Some days were worse than others, but as they sank further into autumn and the cold days were more frequent than not her returning symptoms were more and more frequent. At this rate she feared the illness that kept her bed ridden for most of her childhood would return in full force and at this point she felt like she was just staving off the inevitable. She kept thinking about Aslatiel, Ocean's friend that had offered to take them away form here, and while she didn't want to feel like a burden on her and her brother she also had a grim feeling that she wouldn't make it through a winter here.

The howl at the border made her lift her head from the furs she as laying on, a little hope stirring in her chest. She got to her paws and slipped her satchel around her. It was already packed with what little herbs and supplies she had, though there was hardly enough left to even bother carrying with her. She drank the last of her valerian root tea she had prepared the night before so that she could sleep before she left the ship. Even though she wanted to run to the border to meet up with Aslatiel and Ocean, she forced herself to go slow just to keep away the worst of her coughing. She arrived soon enough though, giving them both a tired smile. "Thank you," she said to Aslatiel, her soft voice holding a rough rasp. She went and settled beside Ocean, leaning into his side with a soft sigh. She just hoped Ignis wouldn't put up too much of a fuss over them. She didn't want to cause any trouble for Aslatiel after she had shown her so much kindness.

It appeared that there would be no fight at all. Once Ocean and Chrystelle arrived, Asla waited for a time. The siblings rested together while the fawn and soot woman sat apart. Seeing Ocean and Chrystelle so close... it brought back some of the sadness within her and she tried hard to look anywhere other than upon them. In time she would become used to it, but the self-inflicted wound in her heart was too new. Too fresh. Chrystelle thanked her and Aslatiel merely nodded, the corners of her maw would lift for a moment before she looked away again.

Who knows how long the trio waited? With her call unanswered, Asla felt that she had given the alpha enough time to act. With no appearance or return howl to say that they were on their way, she'd had enough. With a shrug, the woman lifted herself to grey and white paws. "I'm ready if you're ready." Without another glance towards the territory behind her, Asla began to move. She would keep her pace somewhat slow for Chrystelle's sake, but she couldn't say that she wasn't anxious to return to her children. Oh yeah... she should probably tell Ocean that she was a mom. That... could wait for now.
