practice makes perfect

Avantika stood alone in the plains. It was a lovely afternoon, not raining or anything, with just a couple of white, fluffy clouds in the blue sky—a good day for a spar. Not that every day wasn't a good day to train, of course. But she was still relieved that she wouldn't have to deal with slippery mud, despite how good that seemed like it would be for her footwork and balance. She didn't like how long it took to clean her pelt after. But on the topic of sparring, she knew exactly who to try with: Rudy. She hadn't talked to her best friend in a while, but for as long as she'd known him, he'd never turned down a chance to fight. So this would be both a training session and a chance to catch up. He hadn't exactly been in the best state of mind last time they'd sparred. She wanted to make sure he was doing better now. She howled for him.
