Come down, come down sweet reverence
Jynn was attempting to work her way through the east but it was slow going. Every which way she turned there seemed to be another pack taking up space. One thing was for certain, the east was a popular place to settle down. That wasn't Jynn's style though. She wasn't going to give up her freedom and join a pack any time soon if ever. Jynn managed to thread her way around a pack and found herself in a gorgeous field of wildflowers that had managed to stand firm against the coming of winter. They'd no doubt been aided by the mild autumn but that wouldn't last forever.
Jynn bent her head to sniff lightly at a bunch of orange flowers as the wind picked up, ruffling her fur and stirring the gorgeous colors of blue, red, pink and yellow. It was so pretty she almost missed it when the land suddenly stopped. A sheer cliff carried on for several stories before stopping at a lush, golden beach. Teal waves gently lapped at the beach, making a lovely and soothing sound.
Well, they found the bay. Now how to get down to it?

Álarr continued along the plains until the came to a flowering meadow. He was relieved to be away from the pack borders and able to wander freely. He imagined his traveling partner felt much the same. However, one thing Álarr had noticed as they walked was that they seemed to be going up. His suspicions were soon confirmed as he walked over to Jynn and stared down the cliff. Ah… and there was the bay just a little ways to the south. He looked at Jynn and smirked. "Ok, adventure girl, what's the plan now?" Hopefully she wouldn't take offense at his playful tone.

Come down, come down sweet reverence
Jynn settled onto her belly as she peered over the edge. It was kind of neat watching the water rush in and beat against the coastline. The waves crashing over the rock, the water turning into a silvery spray. Her ears flicked back at Álarr's comment and she scowled at him. "Hey now, we're partners on this little expedition. Feel free to chime in with something other than sarcasm." Honestly though she did feel a bit embarrassed. She could tell that they'd been going uphill but she had rather hoped it was a hill. That they would climb up one side and down the other, not that it would suddenly drop off like this.

Álarr sighed at Jynn's reply. "I'm a healer and warrior, not an explorer. You're the expert in this area. How sure-footed are you?" He settled down on his stomach near the edge of the cliff, legs coiled beneath him. It did not look like an easy climb down. Álarr though of himself as fairly athletic but this was another situation all together and it would be foolish to try. "Perhaps we should just count our losses and try going around." It would mean having to back track but he was in no hurry and besides, they were able to see some interesting terrain along the way so it wasn't a total loss.

Come down, come down sweet reverence
Jynn grumbled softly to herself as she laid her head down on her forelegs. What a predicament. She could understand the logic in Álarr's words but she hated to retrace her steps after they'd come so far. Jynn's sharp eyes continued to scan the cliffside until far on the southwest side she spied a steep trail that headed down from the meadow to the bay. She stood up quickly and bounded over toward the path. "Here we go! It's steep but it looks doable. C'mon!" She wasn't going to give him a chance to back out. Jynn sized up the path and began working her way down.

Álarr yawned as the sea breeze wafted up to the top of the cliff. Honestly, he would be fine just starting his vacation here and forgetting the bay altogether. He still got a nice view and after so much traveling he had to admit that he was ready for a nap. However, it seemed his navigation escort had pulled through and found a way down. He eyed the trail. It was definitely better than climbing down a steep cliffside but it didn't look the safest either. Still, it was worth a shot. If he went sliding down on his back side it would still be fun to bowl into the long-legged woman.
