It hadn’t been that long since he’d gone up against the gold-twisted girl on the battlefield, but he already longed for another taste of victory. It had done wonders for his self-esteem to be able to come out the successful one in what he considered his first official fight. Maybe he wasn’t a waste of the Abraxas lineage after all? But, he couldn’t know for sure until he tried again, and he knew he couldn’t stop there. He needed to keep going, keep fighting his way up until he was good enough for the blood that ran through his veins. His large feet set foot on the wastelands of the battlefield and he tipped his horned head back, calling for any to join him for a test of strength.

Cináed hadn't gone this far from the pack lands since the tournament that Ashen held, but he desperately needed to get away from his home for a while. He need a change of pace, a change of scenery... something besides waiting around for something to change. His father had made some bold claims at the last meeting and at the meeting before that and he was sure he'd keep claiming that things needed to get better and that they would again and again until someone finally did something. As he walked south from the wall that bordered his pack lands, he went straight for the battlefield that were just a couple of territories over, eager to get into a fight with someone besides the same couple of wolves he usually sparred with. It wasn't that he didn't like sparring with Onyx - she was one of the few wolves in the pack he did like - but he wanted a new challenge, someone else to learn from. Not long after he started wandering over the open plain of the battlefield he heard someone calling for an opponent so he turned his path toward the sound and followed it all the way to a boy that was just a bit younger than him perhaps, but not that far off in height. He had horns like his sister and interesting patches of scales. He realized pretty quickly that the boy standing opposite to him had the same kind of scent as that girl he had met after the tournament and it wasn't hard to put two and two together that they were related. "You were interested in a fight?" he questioned with a grin, starting to get into a fighting stance just in case this guy decided to jump right into things.

Cináed Praetor

Once again, the boy didn’t have to wait long for a foe to approach. He hadn’t expected to wait long, considering there seemed to be no shortage of wolves wanting to test their mettle, but what he hadn’t expected was to find the other boy...handsome? He’d thought other men were good looking before, sure, because it didn’t mean anything to be able to acknowledge the good looks of others, but this one made his chest feel a little funny. The way the light hit his fiery pelt made him seem like he had embers flying off of him, much like the legendary phoenix. His stature was tall and strong, not all that taller than him but once Take grew to his full height, he would likely meet the other. And his eyes, they were bright and amber, just as fiery as his pelt, and when he offered a grin...Take felt a blush grow beneath his dark pelt and the bioluminescence that set him aglow gave a pleased shudder. What was this?

He gave himself a mental shake, trying to get a hold of himself. He could question the attraction later and what it possibly meant for him. At that moment, he had a task to perform, and it wasn’t like he could just talk to the other boy...even if he wanted to.

To his companions, whom had stood nearby, he offered a low rumble in his throat and a side glance, letting them know he would be doing this himself. They obediently scattered but didn’t move too far away, just in case things went south for some reason and it turned into more than a friendly spar. Then, he lurched forward, strong legs kicking off against the ground as he headed straight for the other boy. Once he got closer, he lowered his head and prepared to actually batter him with his horns.

Cináed was just settling into his defenses with his large paws spaced evenly from one another, his toes gripping the dirt, ears folded back and joints bent slightly to give him a better range of motion when his new opponent took a second to send his companions away, making it a slightly more even fight. Ciná would have taken on him and his companions without hesitation if that's what this horned, strangely glowing boy had wanted, but he supposed he should be glad that he didn't have more attackers to contend with. There was very little hesitation after that before the other boy darted forward with his head lowered, the hard curve of his horns coming right at him. Ciná quickly jumped to the side to avoid the worst of that charge, one of the other boy's horns just slightly clipping his right shoulder. It was still enough to bruise some later and made him wince, but at least he wasn't getting the air knocked out of him and a much worse bruise to his chest or something like that.

He tried to pivot quickly enough to be able to catch his opponent before he was able to get out of reach, ignoring the ache in his shoulder to reach for the Ashen boy's scruff, avoiding the odd scaled bit around his shoulders and going for the lower part of the back of his neck instead. He attempted to grab the skin with his teeth and use that grip to keep him in close quarters so that he could try to grapple his right forepaw around the other boy's foreleg near the knee. He wanted to pull the leg out from under him and use the added pressure form the back of his neck to push him down to the ground.

Cináed Praetor

Take felt the hard curve of his horns glance off of the other boy as he sidestepped, a feeling of disappointment blooming in his chest at the lack of a solid connection that he’d hoped for. His head bounced to the side slightly, his neck muscles flexing and his shoulders tensing in order to try and keep himself on his feet from the outward force. His handsome, glowing opponent used this opportunity to go for his scruff. He felt teeth dig in there and winced, feeling the weight of the other suddenly atop his back and forelegs spidering around to try and dislodge his own legs out from under him. His legs shook from the weight, finding it difficult to manage both his and the other’s. He struggled to think of a way to get himself out of the hold he was currently in, but reminded himself of his teachings. He lurched himself forward purposefully, allowing his weight to come forward before twisting and kicking his hind legs off the ground in an attempt to throw his opponent up and over him and onto his back. If he were successful, he would quickly try and close his mouth over the other’s throat in a check-mate.

Ciná got a good hold on his opponent's scruff and was successful in putting his weight onto him to make him sway and scramble as he tried to pull his leg out from under him, but what he hadn't been expecting was for the other wolf to buck and try to throw him off of him. In a scramble to try and catch himself he tried to hook a paw around one of the boy's curved horns and did his best to keep a hold on his scruff as well so as he was tossed to the ground he could pull the glowing wolf down with him. Whether he got him to fall or not, Ciná hit the ground, but more on his side than on his back, falling to the earth with a thud that knocked the wind out of him and made him wince. It wasn't nearly hard enough to do any real damage, but his side and shoulder would probably be pretty sore and maybe a little bruised after this was all over - especially his shoulder since it was the same that had been clipped by the Ashen boy's horn.
