Come down, come down sweet reverence
Jynn was glad to get out of that awful, dry strip of land and into a place more hospitable. The place she found herself in now was almost the opposite of the dry strip, it was a place rich with life. Jynn stared out at the pale and slate blue waters of a marshland full of bird life. She noted swans, egrets and blue herons snatching up frogs and small fish. The heron stood gracefull on one of the many little islands of marsh grass before walking a short way into the water in its search for prey. There were a number of colorful song birds flitting too and fro in the sky. The sky was a dull blue, cloudy with only one spot where the sun was shining through. A reminder of winter.
Her attention was immediately drawn to a large willow tree in the middle of one of the larger islands and she started heading toward it, skipping across the islands.

Álarr followed after Jynn on their way southward. By now he could see the ocean and knew that soon the journey would be over. He'd deliver her safely to Auster and then could get back to his duties in Fireside. The area of the estuary was rather pleasant. After crossing through desert and dry conditions it was pleasant to be in an area rich in water as well as life. There were an incredible number of birds here and he wondered if they were on their way south and simply stopping here to refuel for their journey. He imagined they'd be quite thirsty if they'd flown over all that desert.

Come down, come down sweet reverence
Once she reached the large willow tree Jynn stuck her head in between its long drapery of leaves to peer inside. A few rabbits scattered at the site of her as well as a number of birds but some remained silent and just stared at her. It was really neat near the trunk of the tree, like she was in a cave made of leaves. "Hey, Álarr, you should check this out. It's really neat under here." This was the sort of cave she could get behind, she could easily imagine living in a place like this, at least for a little while. In need of a rest Jynn flopped down at the base of the tree and yawned, stretching her legs out to give them a bit of a rest.

Álarr ambles about, at one point stepping right into a puddle of mud but he recovered gracefully enough and shake the mud off his paw. He wondered how much it would snow in this area when winter finally showed its teeth. So close to ocean and the inflow of warm air he imagined the weather here to be milder than areas farther north and inland though he was no navigator and couldn't say for certain. Jynn beckoned him from inside the space made by the willow's long leaves and he carefully stepped in. It wasn't very easy and one particularly stubborn string of leaves got wrapped around one of his horns. Blast…

Jynn was very tempted to nap here but she knew they were getting close to Auster and her destination. As Álarr struggled through the leaves she laughed as a strand got wrapped around one of his horns. As he pushed forward it snapped from the tree and was left hanging there like a strange adornment that he'd put there for some sort of ritual. "Here, let me help." She strolled over to the man as he bent his head and using her teeth she unwrapped the strand of leaves and tossed it aside. "There, now try to be a bit more careful walking out of here so we don't have to do that again.

Álarr grumbled quietly under his breath as the branch broke but the leaves were still entwined around one of his horns. While they could be a useful weapon sometimes they were a real nuisance. Jynn got up and walked over to him and Álarr bent his head to give her easier access. In a few swift motions she had the plant removed. "Thanks. I'll try to be more careful next time. Sometimes these horns are more of a hindrance than a help." Not that he would ever want to lose them but sometimes it was easy to forget how much he needed to adjust for the extra height.
