There was something sharp and crisp about the still night air that was refreshing and welcome. He didn't know why, but he wasn't about to ruin the mood by overthinking things. Better to just enjoy the night, right? nd tonight was a good one in his opinion. The blonde wolf found himself deep within the snowy reaches of Kennocha Lake- an icey wasteland, some might argue- but not to him. There was something alluring about the frozen laketop and the spiraling pillars and looping arcs that erupted from it's surface. The night was surprisingly clear, too, leaving a cloudless sky with a bright moon and a million dazzling stars painted onto a dark canvs in plain view to any who tipped their head toward the heavens.

With a mischevous grin the green-eyed wolf suddenly ran toward the lake, leaping out on it to slide super fast across its surface with a laugh.

Bah! It was winter, and freezing. The last thing she expected was to find herself in the Northern territories again. Every time she thought of the allure of a breathtaking white landscape, she needed to remember the downside of freezing her tail off. Even with her thick coat, the Aracari was feeling every brush of the wind across her galaxy coat.

It was dark, and the girl had yet to find a warm body to curl up against to spend the night. Spice, her antlered kitty huddled in her coat at the base of her skull. She was just entertaining the thought of digging her own den in the snow when she caught a flicker of movement, something white and glowy darted from the snow banks and tore out across the frozen lake.

The laughter that followed entices Keetie closer. She stopped and clapped her paws together, waking up her kit who responded with a soft growl. Ignoring Spice, Keetie laughed, and clapped her paws again. Bravo! Star of the show!” Her own laughter was as pleasant as silver bells. She had stopped at the edge of the ice, and put a paw cautiously down against the slippery surface, eyeing it with misgivings.

He wasn't aware he had n audience until the sound of paws clapping together and a feminine voice echoed out to him from the frozen shore of the lake he was standing on, a grin settling on his lips at her words. "Bravo! Star of the show!"
It took a second for his green eyes to find her, but when he did he had to admit that, even as someone who was mainly into guys, she was one of the more stunning he'd seen in his young life, an inky pelt painted with the nights sky and aurora borealis. Her mismtched eyes met his, and he let his tail wag a little in friendly greeting before he stepped foreward and gave a dramatic bow. When he straightens up though, there's a huge grin and a laugh on his lips, more than enough to let her know he doesn't actually take himself seriously.

She steps out toward the ice, her paws hesitant and he realizes it's because she's bigger than him, probably nervous it wouldn't hold her weight despite the fact that her lither build probably helped a bit. "It seems pretty sturdy, but no promises!" he called, jumping around on the compact surface as if to test his own theory for her. There was no give in the icey floor beneath him, no cracking or splintering to indicate any weakness.

She watched as the sandy wolf turned towards her, and ooed appreciatively at the stunning green of his eyes. Brilliant enough in tone to stand out across the night. His elegant bow brought out another laugh from her - especially considering how he had performed it on the slippery ice.

As though to cheer her on, the stranger called out to her, promising her security on the ice. His jumping motions giving weight to his words. Hmm, cracking ice wasn't her only reason to hesitate. He looked at home on the ice, stomping about without losing traction. The star-marked woman wasn't so sure she could make it look as effortless. Oh, but imagine if she could learn to dance across the ice? She delicately arched back her head and met the eyes of the snowy wolf. "And if I step on the ice, will you catch me if I fall, my dove?" She arched an eyebrow as she asked the question. Wondering if he would be as charming as his eyes were stunning.

"Of course. I couldn't let a lovely lady like yourself get hurt." he replied, happily playing into her words as he slid to stand before her. "Just sort of shuffle your feet and slide foreward." he explained, gesturing to her paws. It really wasn't too hard to get the hang of once you'd done it a couple times, and for Dream it came easily thanks to the lakes and streams he'd grown up near, all of which had been prone to freezing over in the cooler weather. "My name's Dream, by the way." he added, realizing he'd forgotten to introduce himself. "What brings you out this way?" Perhaps she lived near by, or like him had simply come to explore?

With the creamy wolf willing to be a gentlemen, she took the plunge. Placing both of her front paws on the ice, she immediately began to slide forward. Almost sliding right into the arms of Dream, who patiently waited before her. With her back arched forward, and her bum end still on the safety of land, she grinned at him.

Then, shuffling forward, she let herself move fully onto the ice, and slid very slowly forward with her small momentum. “Dream.” She mused “Is that to go with your dreamy eyes?” she fluttered her own lashes at him, before shifting her weight forward and letting herself slide again - into Dream, if he didn’t move out of the way. “I’m Keetie” She introduced herself.

He watched her with observant eyes as she stepped onto the ice and slid foreward, hesitant at first as she tried to test her grip with her front paws alone. "Dream? Is that to go with your dreamy eyes?" she asked, and he couldn't help but huff a little in amusement at her words. So bold with her compliments, but he didn't mind. It wasn't easy to make the blonde feel flustered or uncomfortable, and he simply shook his head. "Nah. My mom said I always had big dreams when I was a pup so that's what she ended up calling me. I guess I'm just Mr Ambitious over here." he replied, flexing his toes a bit so that his claws kept him stationary when she finally stepped out the rest of the way and slid foreward, gently bumping into his chest.

"Nice to meet you, Keetie." he grinned, unphased by the proximity between them. He was more than strong enough to support her weight, and his confidence on his feet would hopefully rub off on her soon enough.

“Ohhhh… Mr Ambitious, sexy” She laughed, liking a man that didn’t just settle but sought bigger, brighter things. A girl that liked to get the best out of the world could understand. He didn’t move when he glided uncertainty towards him, and allowed her to bump into his chest. She tossed her head back and looked up at his chin for a moment. “And you, Dream.” she agreed.

Flexing her feline-like claws, she sug them into the ice for traction. Perhaps she could throw in a mixture of gliding and stalking along the ice, using her claws to gain traction when she needed it. She cautiously pulled away from him, clawing her away along the ice. Spice, her antlered cat stuck her head up from Keetie’s neck and offered a mrrr at the stranger.

“So, what's the most complicated dance you can pull off on the ice?” she challenged him.

Only when he was confident that she had her legs did he draw away, sliding backwards easily so he wasn't in her way. Her words, still dripping with flirtacious tones, were nice in a way he didn't like to admit. But hell, he was a proud wolf and she was deffinitely right- ambition was sexy. "That's quite the compliment coming from a women who looks like the Gods painted her with the nights sky." he replied, certain that if anyone knew anything about being desireable, it was this bold femme before him.

At her next question the blonde feigned a thoughtful expression, taking a moment to think about what might impress her the most. It was a delicate balaance between picking a cool move and pushing it too far and wiping out, and he would prefer to avoid the later right now. "Hmmm, let's see." he mumbled as he scanned the lake around them, looking for the right thing.

"Okay, watch this." he said, fixing his gaze on his target. Shifting his grip on the ice so it was more nail than paw, he used the leverage to rush foreward with surprising speed before launching himself foreward into a slide. Shifting his weight sharply and using his nails to hook himself, he began to spin in a series of tight circles before breaking the spin and sliding backwards out onto the ice. He was a little dizzy, but had learned long ago that fixing your gaze helpped take the worst of it away, and green orbs were quick to land on Keetie again, looking to see if she liked his little trick or not. "What do you think- ten out of ten?"

“Who says they didn’t?” she teased, knowing she was the most beautiful wolf anyone she bumped into had ever seen. Knew it, and flaunted it. Modest, she was not. Digging her claws in tight, the Aracari came to a halt. Giving Dream her full attention as he put on a thoughtful expression. No doubt he was considering the best way to impress her. If there was one thing Keetie loved, it was attention. It was watching others put in an effort to please and wow her. She grinned, shifting her weight to her rump as she seated herself on the chill ice. Her own expression expectant.

Dream came through for her, as he slid across the ice, and executed a pattern of tight circles. “Ohhhh, very dainty!” she agreed approvingly, clapping her front paws together again as he returned to her.

“So much ice… I wonder if we couldn’t build something pretty with it.” she mused

He slid back over to her, pleased her with her compliments, and considered her next words. Build something pretty out of it? He turned to gaze out at the frozen landscae around them, considering the question. What sort of thing would they even build? "I mean, if you had a tool you could probably chisel some of the bigger clumps into designs and stuff." he chuckled, suddenly picturing a row of practice dummys but carved from ice. That'd be hell on the teeth, and body. Probably not the best idea. Still, there wertr probably a ton of others things you could make with it. "This stuff would be crazy to use in a fight, too. Ice-shields and blades, thin ice traps and projectiles." he mused aloud. A battle like that would be brutal, and while his mind could come up with a dozen ways to use the biome around him he still found himself hoping he never had to.

Keetie laughed softly at the picture he made with his words. “Surely a shield would shatter, and any weapon would be one-time use…” She pointed out. But the idea captivated her. What would it look like to have a wolf kitted out in a brilliant blue armour? Wielding weapons of sharpened ice?

“Come here” she said, digging her claws into the ice again to balance herself, before lifting her right paw. Carefully, with her cat-like claw unsheathed and with concentration on her face, she began to saw it through the ice, making the rough outline of a dagger. Getting the underneath side was a bit of a mission. “Hold this” she prompted him, holding back a giggle as she handed over the ‘dagger’

It was fun having someone to discuss this kind of stuff with- hell, it was fun having someone to discuss anything with. "I guess the integrity of the items would depend on the kinds of ice you use." he admitted. Ice, like metal, had different levels of structural integrity depending on how it was made, an observation made during long winters of screwing around with his surroundings. Things like iceicles in a typical forest were easy to snap and shatter, but ice from farther up north was colder and harder, far more suitable for something like a shield or blade then the ice from a normal central winter. Colliding full force with a thick slab of ice could bruise and break bones even if the shiled did yield to the weight thrown against it. In that scenario, a one-time use would really be all you needed.

Amused, he watched as the she-wolf began to carve a shape out of the ice below them, eventually pulling an icey dagger out and holding it toward him. He accepted it with interest, admiring her quick work before turning his questioning gaze back to her. "Are we about to become scientists right now?" he asked with a teasing grin, though in reality he was just as curious to see what what practical uses they could get out of it.
