Aurielle Adravendi

Aurielle padded quietly across the plains under the bright moon’s light, then slipped into the woods shrouding the hillock. After wending her way through the trees, she began the climb up the path to the top of the hillock, coming to sit at the heart of the tower in progress.

The floor was still packed clay, but she planned to have it stoned eventually. For now, with the strange blue fireflies drifting and flashing through the air and foliage reflecting – or glowing – the Spirit tipped her muzzle to the sky, frowning at the moon before she sighed and sang for Drachen. Perhaps this would be one of his first ventures as a Mist.

In all likelihood, though, he might have already gathered some information, since she had already heard from her son and Taliesyn, and that only named a few.

Her tail flicked, sending the blazing blue-white hair pooling over the packed ground at her paws as she waited for the man to reach her.

At first glance, Aurielle's coat is pure white.. Her fur has an iridescent quality (like moonstones) where the fur shimmers different colors under various angles of light: in this case, the colors shown by rainbow moonstones. Not one hair on her hide is a solid unnatural color, but, ya know, it's really hard to convey that in still art :P
Aurielle's English is heavily laden with an Irish, Swedish mixed accent.
Her family is allowed to crash all her threads, Private and Open.
As of Autumn Year 14, Aurielle glows with a bright blue-white bio-luminescence in her fur, and bears a marking over her left eye - see profile and reference.

Drachen had returned from his venture at the oasis about an hour ago and the man took a quick nap in his den to recover from the fast pace he set to return to Valhalla to report his findings to Aurielle. His sleep was restless however, as on his way home he found more and more plants glowing and strange mushrooms popping up through the frost, their caps giving off a blueish glow. A howl from the very wolf he wanted to talk to woke him from his sleep and the Black and Tan male jumped to his paws and exited his den, leaving Enzi to her sleep. He blinked away the fatigue from his eyes as he padded quickly to the hillock and made the climb to the tower.

Once he reached the top where the partly constructed tower rested, his handsome face was marred with a concerned scowl. A blue firefly like creature blinked next to him and he side stepped away from it but before he could get a closer look, the blue light vanished. His scowl soften into a respectful expression as he spotted the Spirit waiting for him in the center of the tower and he approached her, dipping his head in greeting as he stopped in front of her. "Good evening Spirit. " He rumbled in friendly hushed tones, trying to keep the fatigue from his voice. He had yet to clean the travel from his pelt and dust coated his dark legs giving them a reddish tint from the desert sand. He had a feeling he knew why she had called him but he waited for her to speak her mind first out of respect.

Aurielle Adravendi

He arrived, and Aurielle regarded him with a keen, shrewd eye. He was desert dusted, recently traveled and tiredness lurked at the corners of his eyes and the edges of his frame, though he was clearly trying to conceal some of it, of not all. Her lips wanted to smile in approval. A less observant wolf might have been fooled, but she’d been trained to watch for such things.

But the strangeness of the moon’s stagnant phase, the glow of the flora and fauna, the streaking of stars and the strange fireflies pressed back upon her, and she nodded, acknowledging, “Once we’re done talking, please, get some rest, use a bit of Valerian or whatever works best for you, if you must. I may do the same, to be honest.”

For certain, her mind would be chewing over the strange happenings far too stubbornly for a natural sleep to be easily caught.

She drew in a breath and let it out in a plume of vapor as a sigh. “I’m sure you haven’t missed the odd signs in our world. What do you make of them? The last time we had bizarre events we had a miniature ice age and returning beasts that we thought extinct.”

Her eyes flicked up to the sky, ears slipping back briefly before pricking forward as she regarded the Mist, not pushing, clearly wishing him to take his time to consider his words. She was patient, regardless of the oddities of the world, and she was interested to hear his take on the events currently going on, even now, around them.

Of course the Spirit was not fooled by his attempt to keep from showing the fatigue weighing down on every fiber of his being and the man gave Aurielle a nod as she commanded him to get some rest after they had spoken. Honestly, he probably would not even make it back to his den and would probably curl up next to the unbuilt wall of the tower once the woman left. But it seemed like he was not the only one to find the changes of the environment disturbing. He saw that tiredness also pulled that the corners of the Spirit's eyes and said she would probably take some herbs to help her sleep. Perhaps, if he was still unable to sleep soundly come morning, the brute would go in search of one of the healers in the pack for a sleeping herb. But that was a problem for another time and Drachen waited patiently for Aurielle to speak.

Again his dark face nodded one as she rightfully assumed that he had not missed the strange occurrences in the night and his lips pressed together as she asked him what he thought about it. He did not speak right away as his tired brain worked through everything, remembering every single detail so that he did not miss something important. "The strange glowing phenomenon is not just happening here in and around Valhalla. Further than even the Illusion Oasis from which i just visited. While there, I met a healer from Ashen, Hattori Kiyo..." he started, remembering the woman's name and pack without trouble as he had burned it into his memory, along with Ashen's pack scent. He paused for a moment to see if the name caused some sort of reaction out of Aurielle before continuing "She said she came form the east and even there, this strangeness was occurring same as it is here. She also had no idea what would cause the plants and animals to glow suddenly." Drachen frowned at the memory, not directed at Kiyo but at the fact that more than one native to Boreas had never experienced it before.

"As for someone who has studied the stars, I have no explanation as to why their light has seemed to be lengthened nor to why the moon has stopped in its phase." His oceanic eyes closed for a moment as once again he tried to think of some explanation that could cause such a thing but nothing that his navigation teachers in his birth pack had ever recorded such a phenomenon. It was unsettling and the black and tan male fell silent again and turned his blue gaze to the night sky, his hackles rising along the back of his neck. He felt like something was going to happen, something danced in the air just out of sight, teasing and taunting him just like the small blue glowing orbs that winked in and out of existence. Several clouded breaths later he returned his gaze to Aurielle and his husked tones spoke once more "Whatever this is... it must be caused by the Gods. I recommend that we be on high alert for whatever unknown comes next." His face grim but determined, he had no idea how they would prepare for something like this, something unknown, but he had face Aurielle would lead them through it and they would survive.

She noted the nod, a faint touch of humor reaching her features as she added, “Feel free to crash in one of the alcoves if you like. They’re open to all in the pack, not just myself and my family.”

She sat patiently as Drachen gave his report, head cocking in only half recognition at the name he gave. “I know of Ashen—they were actually our neighbors in the same lands as Aerie until the eruption of Mount Volkan. Then they moved into the Redwater Rocks before moving east once things settled. Hattori Kiyo doesn’t ring a bell, though.”

She nodded and listened on as he continued speaking. She agreed for certain with is final assessment, though her mind chewed on the strange anomalies, comparing with the previous winter. “Perhaps; Gods, or our world is changing. Or both. Who knows? But I agree that Valhalla should remain watchful. Valhalla, and its allies..”

What did Theory think of the strange things happening? The younger alpha had clearly not enjoyed the frigid ice age of last winter and how long it had lasted.

Aurielle’s eyes lifted to the sky, and the stubbornly full moon hanging high above. "Go bhfeicfidh Luneil Valhalla agus ár gcomhghuaillithe go sábháilte trí cibé rud a thiocfaidh."

The words were breathed out in a low murmur. Times like these were when she wished her father were still present and alive.
