Why are you blue?

Hudson was restless. Some deep, primordial gut feeling told him he needed to move. He raised from the soft grasses he called his bed that evening and stretched. Green eyes took a quick look around, to figure out what direction to go. After a quick glance, he saw the usual - some trees, some bushes, some blue owls...
Blue owls.....?
He ran up to the owls and barked wildly at them, causing one of the poor things to shriek in anger and confusion. It rose up out of its tree and spread its massive spotted wings, and Hudson let out a quiet "Oh, shit and backed up. He paused, looking at the creature defiantly. "Sorry, but, why are you blue? Can you talk? HELLO?" The owl wasn't interested in conversation and screeched wildly at him. He snarled back, finding the response a little ridiculous. The second owl joined the first's screeching and Hudson rolled his eyes. "Dumb birds! It was a simple question!"

Avantika was still a little confused by the changes that had recently come about, but she was settling into the notion that this was what the world would be like for a while. Blue things, weird blue fireflies, and a moon that never waned. She wished she knew why these things had happened. She'd never been a spiritual wolf, but it almost made her think that something of that nature had caused it. A young man was snarling and yelling at a small parliament of owls. Avantika blinked in confused surprise. Why...? "Dumb birds," she agreed as her greeting. "I've seen a blue wolf, but never blue owls." "Speech" |
Avantika is prone to panic attacks. Keep in mind when roleplaying with her.

Hudson did not notice the young one's approach but welcomed her words. He sneered at the owls. "Thank you!" He bellowed, voice a deep roar to the girl's comment. In normal circumstances, he would have asked about what blue wolves she'd seen, but he was in the moment right now. He puffed out his chest and pointed his ears forward, trying to intimidate the avian fiends. "See? Even a bystander thinks you're being ridiculous. It was a simple question!" He stomped in place, leaving dirt flying beneath his paws.
The owls were now making moves to leave, frustrated with Hudson and his shouting. They must have been hunting for the rodents that feasted off the dropped fruit, but a meal wasn't worth all the shouting. Hudson rolled his eyes at them and scoffed. "What...ever!" He yelled at them, then walked over to the young wolf who had appeared. "Can you believe these owls? I just wanted to know, why are they blue, and, and, they just..." He was panting from all his barking and hopping. "Do you know why everything looks funny?" He said, tilting his head, almost like a puppy.

This guy seemed really bothered by the owls. Avantika raised her wolfy eyebrows and let her face go blank, sort of a "what the heck are you doing this for?" expression. But she couldn't resist smiling at the humor of the situation at the same time. He bellowed and puffed himself up. He was older than her, and yet he was acting like such a puppy. His irrational anger would have scared her if he wasn't so obviously harmless. The owls were leaving now, and the guy yelled again before walking over to her and complaining more before asking her if she knew why everything looked so weird. "I don't have a clue," she said. "But it's also weird that we haven't changed colors, you know? Like, wolves are animals too, just smarter, right?" "Speech" |
