Ashmedai had been trying to stay away from the cold even since the mammoth hunting. Maybe it was his age, or maybe he just needed some time away. Pestilence was supposed to be taking over his rank, but then she all but vanished to take care of some runt pup. Well, that was her problem, and usually Ashmedai wouldn't care except that she was supposed to be his whole retirement plan.

Now there were all these full moons and blue fireflies and whatnot and Ashmedai was one part bothered, two parts intrigued. It pulled him from the pack as he ventured to the south. The gulley could remain a little warmer and the plants here still survived somewhat. Each and every one of them seemed to glow in the moonlight. Hey, maybe if he ate enough of them, he'd glow too.

Ash wears a tourist shirt and a spiked leather harness from time to time. Sometimes together, sometimes not. Just so you know what you're getting yourself into.

Though winter was here, in his older age Kai found himself less likely to stray to the north as well. Though he still felt as if the north was his home more than anything else, he liked being closer to his now-yearling children. He didn't know yet about two-thirds of them deciding to head out of Valhalla on their own but he knew at least some of them possessed his restless spirit and he wanted to keep a eye out for them if they needed him. Perhaps fortunately for him though they were as independent as he expected - and how could they be anything less, given who their parents were? - and his services hadn't yet been needed. For his kids though he'd go to the ends of the world, but until then?

He was bored down here, and rightfully so, but the universe had a way of seemingly reading his mind. Suddenly things had shifted, just slightly, but more than enough to notice. The night seemed to have a faint glow to it all around, even the grass was glowing, at least bits and pieces of it. Random plants he trekked over seemed to reflect the bright purplish glow of the moon. He'd been a lot of different places but he'd never seen anything quite like this. Not only that, but someone he knew was close by. Man... it'd been a long time since he'd seen this guy. Since the slave auction, if he could remember correctly. "Long time no see," he drawled lazily as he closed the distance between them, only able to catch faint glimpses of Ash through the moonlight so far. "You regret not buying me yet?" A grin split his face wide. They'd both aged substantially since then but Kai liked to think he was still young at heart, despite what his body was beginning to tell him.
