Albion and Scylla had gotten away from her, not an end of the world scenario now that they were embracing their independence. Scylla couldn’t be told what to do, and Albion, though well behaved, followed his sister everywhere. They were incredibly capable for how young they were, and there wasn’t much beyond themselves that they could get hurt with. She tried not to tell herself if she and Chimera could raise themselves Scylla and Albion would be fine for a few hours.
Her paw steps echoed down the hallways as she gave up on her search. Headed towards the wing she and Dalila occupied Siren paused. With practiced grace she turned towards Chimera’s rooms. He visited her and the puppies regularly, the only thing she was left to miss was their alone time. It felt like they had barely explored the new relationship they started after everything… She again bit back the guilt of her deception. These children were his, and she would forever hide the truth.
As her focus shifted from completely taken by her young pups to returning to almost normal life she knew Chimera deserved much more of her appreciation. She hadn’t been able to curate elaborate lunches or sweet moments together, not when her two pups were such pawfulls. There would be no end of her sacrifice for them, but her life was returning to her. Along with her body. They were both weaned from her, so her smooth belly was returning. All the signs of the pregnancy she suffered through was very nearly gone. Except that her curves seemed to be accentuated now.
Her hips swayed to a different beat as she tapped her claws against the door of Chimera’s room. She knew Dalila was with Aliana, so if he was within he should have been alone and all for her. "Chimera?” She called out softly, not wanting to disturb him if he was taking the time to rest.

Funnily enough, he had been taking the time to rest. The women and the children were all off doing their own things. He'd done enough work the day prior to merit sleeping in a bit today. The warm, lush bedding was just too comfortable to leave, so he didn't. He was the king, after all. If he wanted to sleep in, then he damn well could and would. The giant hugged one of the many pillows against his chest, his muscled form sprawled out on its side amidst the cushions, covers and furs. He wasn't even really asleep anymore, just in a sort of half awake state. A daze.
A soft voice and a knock from the door brought the mans pale pink eye slowly creeping open. A low rumble pulled from his chest as the voice of Siren registered in his sleepy mind. "Come in," he answered, though he made no move to get up from his lounging position. If Siren wanted something, she could come in and ask him.

Siren paused a moment, her ear to the door as the muffled comment came from within. Chimera was inside and he bid her come to him. The Queen opened (barely) the door and slipped into the dimly lit room. Dual toned eyes found Chimera laid out comfortably, sleeping in as he deserved. She approached slowly, hoping not to disturb him too much, but she doubted she had woken him.
On dainty paws Siren navigated the plush furs and pillows to lower herself against Chimera’s shoulder sticking out of the luxurious bed. She curled her tiny frame against the curve of his neck and made herself comfortable. Really wanting nothing else than his attention. There was always a child or another woman between them it felt like, and her alone time with the king was always far too short.
The Klein Queen lowered her head to her paws and sighed contentedly, right where she wanted to be. "I’ve missed you.” She confessed softly, even if he was there with her everyday, moments like this didn’t come often.

Siren wasted no time in pushing into the chamber and joining him on the bed of furs. Rather than allow her to stay where she'd chosen to lay, Chimera shifted his big body around until he could pull the tiny fae into his embrace. He nestled Siren against his chest, his eyes closing once more. "I've missed you too." All of his time lately had been devoted to Aliana. The loss that they had both suffered had left the pair empty and exhausted. There was time for little else. The woman in question had stepped out to tend to her own needs for a time, so Chimera had been soaking up some alone time, but time with Siren was much better.
"How are you? How are our little monsters?" Well, Scylla was definitely a monster. Albion and Cerberus were calmer sorts. With Dalila having recently given birth, there were children everywhere. More dead than alive, however. He pushed the thought away.
Pulling Siren more tightly against him, the giant man lowered his maw to claim her lips with his own. He loved his sweet sister. He always had. He always would. However... another had pushed her way into his heart. The love for Aliana was different than his love for Siren. He needed them both in different ways. Chimera couldn't imagine his life without either of them. "There's something that I want to talk to you about." He would speak with Siren to let her know of his plans.

Siren wasn’t allowed to get comfortable where she draped herself over him. Chimera shifted, moving her tiny form with ease as she sunk her into the bed with him. The King pulled her against his chest and into his embrace. He echoed her sentiment, he had missed her too. They both knew where his time was spent, poor Aliana had turned into a rough shell of the woman she had been.
Chimera asked after her and their children. Though Siren barely gave the thought a second to manifest the deception still drove a stake through her heart as he asked about their monsters. The children were growing like weeds despite the illness that took them along with the land. "They haven’t been spared from the curse of darkness,” Siren told him worriedly. "Despite what they’re going through they are all doing well.” Not much slowed those three puppies down.
As if she said nothing, and what she really wanted, Chimera squeezed her lightly and lowered his lips to hers. She let herself get lost in his affection, something once unknown to her. She cared about him, she loved him, Siren adored him and what he had become. For her. Their relationship had its mountains and valleys, but they always returned to one another even if another warmed their bed at night.
She would have lost herself then, but Chimera pulled away just enough to speak to her, mentioning he had something they needed to talk about. Siren snuggled into his fur, a soft humm on her lips as her dual toned eyes met his. "Oh?” She prompted him softly before peppering little kisses along his chin.

He knew that the children were infected. He'd locked them up himself. Siren saw to their well being, however. Chimera had so many things to worry about now that the world had gone dark that he didn't have enough time to spare to see to the children every day. He was thankful that they were doing well enough. None of them had given in to their afflictions, just like he would expect from Klein blood.
Siren reacted to his kiss and a low rumble left Chimera's chest. He gave the woman another squeeze. Their relationship had changed vastly from when they were children. For the better, if you asked him. They were friends, lovers, bound together by trials and by blood. No one would ever be able to replace Siren. She was on a level all her own in his heart. That wasn't to say that his heart couldn't be shared. That very thing was what he wanted to talk to her about.
As Siren peppered little kisses along his chin, Chimera pulled back enough so that he could look down at her, denoting the seriousness of what he was about to say. "I love Aliana," he admitted, one massive paw absently stroking along the fawn fae's hip. "I plan to tie myself to her. Give her our name." She deserved it. Aliana held him together like no other could. Still his paw stroked over his sisters shapely hip, enjoying the feel of his claws pulling through her fair fur. "Tying her to me will make her the wife of a king, thus making her a queen."
Mismatched eyes searched Siren's face, gauging her reaction. Would she accept it? Would she be jealous? Angry?

Himera may have locked the children up but that certainly didn’t mean they remained that way. They were never where they were told to remain and though she hadn’t caught them, Siren was well aware they had found some way to escape their confines. Not that she’d mention that part. Besides now that they were alone all of her attention was on her King, and not the children of Fenmyre. He squeezed and held her tight as they kissed and his paws ran over her silky smooth fur.
She would have let him ignore whatever he had to tell her, she had sought him out and not the other way around. Her desires were put aside for the moment, and even as she kissed him Chimera pulled away so he could catch her gaze seriousness in his tone. Siren’s tongue returned between pale lips as he made his confession without anymore lead up. He loved Aliana. That was no great surprise to her, his affection for all of them was no secret. She didn’t particularly expect the next words that came from him though.
He loved her, and he was going to give her the Klein name and elevate her to his Queen. Surprise, shock, and though she tried to hide it hurt crossed her features as Siren had to avert her gaze from him. She already knew she wasn’t enough for him, from the moment she returned to him from the Armada she knew she would never be enough for him. But once she’d finally given herself fully she’d thought that maybe…
"Oh…” She tried so hard not to feel suddenly deflated. She tried to remember her status. ”Aliana is the embodiment of grace, loyalty, and devotion, she deserves it.” Siren spoke graciously, but her heart twisted. "I… I...” She stuttered, trying to remain gracious. "My King, what rank would you have me take instead?” In her mind this was a replacement; it didn't occur to her that Chimera wished her to remain and have Aliana join her.

Though she tried to hide it, Chimera could see the disappointment, the negative reaction. Siren lowered her gaze and complimented Aliana. The brute furrowed his brow for a moment. "Yes, she is all of those things," he admitted. His paw had stilled, holding its place cupped around the curve of Siren's hip. Her next statement hurt him a bit. She thought that she was being displaced? If the man's brow wasn't furrowed before, then it definitely was now.
"I made a promise to you that I would make you a queen, Siren." The paw on her hip slid upwards until he had her own paw in his. Lifting it to his lips, Chimera placed a kiss upon the back of that tiny, pale appendage. "You will always be a queen, Siren. You will always be my queen." After he kissed her paw, Chimera placed it upon his chest, right over his beating heart. "She is not your replacement, little sister. I simply wish her to join you as the second most important woman in my life." Siren would always be first.
With practiced ease, Chimera rolled the delicate fae onto her back. His teeth found the fur just under her jaw and he gently groomed her there. Nibbling up the line of her jaw, their lips were soon touching and Chimera kissed Siren with all of the love and lust that a king could muster. No, he wasn't replacing her. He couldn't replace her. While Aliana had taken her place as queen of his heart, Siren was queen of his soul. He aimed to show her just that.

Chimera seemed to freeze as she spoke, she wasn’t fooling either of them with her thinly veiled emotions. As she spoke her concern, and asked for clarification, Chimera didn’t hesitate to correct her. He promised her that she would be a queen, that he would be the one to make her so and he hadn’t lied. She had been queen, but he could take the title as swiftly as he had given it. Chimera didn’t go that direction though, he trailed up her body and held onto her tiny paw as he continued.
A kiss to her paw before he assured her that she would always be Queen here. Always his Queen. He kissed her paw and he placed it against his heart as he positioned her ahead of Ali, as the most important woman, with Aliana sharing that place beside her. Chimera didn’t have to do much to reassure her, and it only took a few words before her pretty features were lit by her smile once more. He desired her as much as she needed him.
She looked up to him as he lay her onto her back and settled himself over her tiny form. She relaxed into his embrace, fully submit to his will, and relaxed as his teeth caressed the thin skin above her jugular vein. Siren didn’t need a title, she would have accepted her lot if Chimera had put Aliana by herself as Queen. This was what she wanted, Chimera’s attention, his love, his kiss. Siren hummed into his lips as he trailed up her jaw and returned them to hers. Her tiny paws reached up to cradle his head as all of her doubts and insecurities melted away with the heat that danced between them.
