Gossamer lapped at a bowl of red wine, enjoying the feeling of warmth that spread through her limbs. She'd lost track of what was going on at the tournament for the most part. Was it over? Was it her turn? She had no idea other than for once she felt relaxed and at ease and she was going to soak up the feeling for all it was worth. In time however it was time for the racing final. Wait, she was in the final? Gossamer shrugged and lined up on the starting line. Soon the start signal was given and she bounded forward, stumbled, but then swiftly got back to her feet and sought to get to the finish line as quickly as possible so she could lay back down and have one more drink.

Lukina bounded over to the starting line for the final race. She was delighted to have made it so far. She wasn't particularly light or small but she was determined and hoped to finish out the race with a victory. Lukina lined up with the other yearlings and when the start signal was given she kicked off hard against the sand, seeking to launch herself as far as she could. She then took to loping down the river shore. Lukina kept her claws sheathed for the most part but when she hit a few areas of loose gravel she stumbled and had to use her claws to recover. Her tail waved wildly as she regained her balance and ran even harder to try and make up the distance she'd lost.

Truthfully Kaija was surprised she'd made it this far, not for her lack of skill but simply because she lacked the drive to stay on track a lot of the time. Already she felt her attention fading and she was eager to finish the last race so she could go on and rest awhile before finding something else to do. She paced at the starting line, eyeing the other wolves she'd be racing. Some looked quite a bit faster than her but she had to hope her pure drive would see her through to the finish line. Squinting as she focused ahead of her, she sprung forward when she was given the signal, kicking off hard and fast. Paws scrambled unsteadily over rocks and vegetation as she sought to overtake her opponents, able to stay momentarily focused.

Gossamer focused more on the ground in front of her than on the final destination, focusing on where her paws were as she tried not to stumble. The sun was completely gone now but the moon illuminated the way and she leapt over a piece of driftwood. A few of the racers fell behind but the girl with the tusks was clear competition. Gossamer sped up, her lungs heaving as she tried to keep pace. She'd failed spectacularly in the fighting portion of the tournament which was a real shame as a warrior of the Armada but she felt some solace in making it to the racing finals. Now if she could just seize a victory.

Lukina was delighted just to be running. She took joy in racing down the beach in the moonlight with other wolves her age even if she was too shy to really socialize with them. It just made her feel a part of something and she was eager to succeed and share that success with her fellow swamp wolves. How proud would Bog be if he knew she was one of the faster wolves in Boreas? She also wouldn't mind showing some of the other swamp wolves what she could do. Lukina bounded forward. The moonlight reflecting off her white fur where it showed through the muddy streaks and moss she'd used to decorate and camouflage her fur.
