The Ooze ParticipantThe Ooze - Variation 3
10-31-2021, 09:04 AM

Darkness clouded the sky like a looming storm that never ceased, shrouding the world as the wolves knew it in a malevolent, obsidian blanket. A thick mist corrupted the castle grounds, not even its regal stone walls impentetrable from the abnormal elements. A haunting, blue glow now dusted the lands, covering more ground than the flora that once brightened the courtyard below. A plethora of strange animals, unrecognizable by anybody, scattered about, barely seen save for the bright glow they emenated as well.

All was not well within the relative safety of the Hallows home. As a faint blue glow infected the crumbling floors and ancient ceiling, a few drops of a bright, oozing liquid were occasionally spattered across the ground, headed up the main staircase, and towards the bedrooms on the third floor. If one was so inclined, should they not be ailing themselves, they’d see there was a pattern; someone was clearly secreting the strange liquid as they walked - er, stumbled - towards their destination.

Laeta was faltering with each shaky step. She’d barely recovered from the sharp tickling from within her head, thinking she’d gone mad, when a glowing liquid began secreting from her eyes. She had just made it into the castle, equating it with safety and shelter from the terrifying metamorphosis of the world she knew, and the dark was going to eat her alive when that stuff began trickling from her nose and ears. Drops littered the floor as the woman fought back cries of panic, but failing as her weak wails and sobs echoed off the castle’s walls. Each step became an agonizing wave of anxiety, panic tearing into her very soul as she fought back the urge to vomit. The liquid..where was it coming from? As it oozed from within some unknown region of her throat, the woman had to pause at the top of the main staircase to heave, her stomach roiling as more of the fluid dripped with a sickening, wet slop from her lips. It was just not stopping. Her breaths were hoarse, panicked. The dark scared her. It scared her so bad.

Her anxious, but sentient thoughts began to be replaced with a series of strange, scattered words that she uninentionally whispered between sniffles and terrified cries. "Mom — I’m home, I’m a good girl, I’m sorry—" She croaked, the oozing glowing fluid hindering her ability to speak coherently. Her ruby eyes were wide with a deep, visceral fear that overcame her rational senses. Rational? No more rational. All gone.

Despite not feeling in control of her own mind, the thin woman managed to reach the third staircase, but cou,d barely see due to the liquid obscuring her vision, dripping down her obsidian face thickly like a strange mucus. Her hearing was muffled, the liquid having filled her auditory canals. She could still hear, technically, but it felt as if someone had up and stuffed her ears and eyes with cotton. Her nonsensical muttering continued, marred with panic as the woman fought to maintain some semblance of control. Her limbs shook with a very real panic as she tried to scent out her bedroom, though the damn liquid was dripping from her nose, too. Gods, was everything watching her, too? Did the walls see her? The sky was watching? She wasn’t safe, not safe.

"Home, house..momma, I’m home now. It’s our house..don’t cry..let me out.." She kept murmuring the word ‘home’, echoing the erratic state of her mindset. It didn’t make sense. Sense make? No make. Make. Like a zombie, the woman unsteadily reached her room by some miracle, drunkenly padding hrough the doorway. Realizing she couldn’t reach the bed, she collapsed into a sobbing, shaking pile beside it, the oozing fluid flowing endlessly from her facial features.

"Momma..don’t eat me.." She cried helplessly, almost choking on the fluid from her mouth as her form was wracked with sobs. It was so dark, so dark. It was so scary. Why was everything hurting her? Why?
