Screaming serpent

The darkness that overtook these lands had taken him by surprise. He admitted for the most part the cobra had decided to remain hidden. Spring normally meant renewal but now he had seen the infected creatures. At first he figured he would get infected with the strange crystals as well. Or even those mushrooms he had seen in the fields. Slithering against the ground he pushed his body upwards. Standing at a five foot height to get a better look at the area. Koby was searching for wolves, the creatures he had the biggest bond with.
Perhaps if he read a fortune he could tell when this darkness would end. Koby wanted to treat like the good snake he was. While no healer he could use his cultural knowledge to find something out no? There was always room to improve and definitely much for him to learn. His unblinking eyes looked onwars, a small tongue flickering out to taste the air.

The voices...the voices wouldn't leave him alone! They plagued him like the night was plaguing the lands! It didn't seem to want to end, and he swore that all the glowing crystals and mushrooms, plants, and animals were taunting him! He felt dizzy, everything seemed to blend together and melt into the darkness. He was having a hard time trying to keep his bearings with the lack of stars to guide him. Ooze was leaking from his nose and eyes and ears, making it even more difficult for him to be able to track down prey, and he was trying to figure out where he might have gotten sick from...but he supposed it didn't matter at this point. He lied down in the grass, rubbing his face against the ground as he tried to clean off some of the ooze and didn't realize there was someone watching nearby...

Koby at first didnt realize the shape in the grass was a wolf. With this eternal darkness his bad eyesight always played against him. Once his tongue flicked out however he noticed the tinge of sourness that came with illness. He moved forward spotting the poor creature desparatept trying to rub ooze from itself.
"Excusssse me. Do you need asssssissstance?" His voice was calm but the cobra kept his distance. He wasnt sure what the emotional dtate of this wolf was. All he knew is that he so desparately wanted to help.

He rubbed his face on the ground, unaware that there was a snake in the grass nearby. With his nose, eyes, and ears leaking strange glowing ooze, it was hard to keep his senses straight. That and the constant sound of whispering voices got his paranoia going, as he assumed they belonged to the demon or whatever plagued him already. He never forgot what Elias had told him...but the fact that he was tainted with that blood of his sires ancestry frightened him, and the world being thrown into darkness didn't help at all.
So when he heard someone speak nearby, he jumped to his feet and rounded on whoever it was with a snarl, though he remained rooted in place as what the stranger said slowly sunk in. "I-yes, I do! I don't know what's going on, who are you? Can you help?" He tried to wipe the thick ooze from his eyes, though it did little to help him see. He couldn't exactly make out what - or who - he was looking at, but he'd accept help from anyone at this point.
