Spark was trying to make her way to Auster, but as time continued on and so did her illness her trail grew less direct and much much slower. There wasn't much she seemed able to do. Her left eye had been nearly overtaken by a crystal she'd tried multiple times to remove, and on her left foreleg she had grown what looked almost like a bone spur but was instead a jutting blue crystal, growing from one of her former battle wounds that hadn't quite healed by the time she'd contracted the illness.
The pain was intense, with each step her elbow ached, as it jostled the growth and so she limped most of her way along her ambling path... But the pain was intense and her eyes leaked a thick blue liquid though she was deeply dehydrated. Spark was practically running on empty and it was only a matter of time when she succumbed to her own inability not to push herself.
And Spark only made it as far as the prairie before she finally collapsed. Her paws tapping out her panic as she toppled over, wincing as she landed on her left leg and jarred the crystal spur. The pain was so much, and the darkness was closing in quickly.

Ru wanted to be a great warrior, and to go down in Abaven’s history as someone who had done something of note, something to be remembered. His wanderlust however had often kept him away from home, and he knew his training wasn’t as strict as it should have been. Still, he was love-struck at the idea of being a warrior, and being a healer was the side of himself he hadn’t given much thought to. He had some rudimentary knowledge, had sat in on a few lessons, and could identify some herbs.
With Abaven wolves sick and stricken with a strange illness, Ru knew that it wasn’t warriors they needed right now. So he had grabbed a bag and made his way to the lush fields of the Prairie, hoping to find herbs - and others looking for herbs, that he might glean some wisdom from.
Reaching the Praire, the young wolf took a good look around himself, seeking any other such entrepreneurs, and instead his eyes would find a dark figure. Zings of red like lightning racing across her body… and crystals… growing from wounds and eye. Unlike the wolves in Abaven however, she was out here alone. As he watched, she collapsed softly in the grass.
He hurried forward, and hovered for a moment a step away from her. Hesitating, torn. Should he interfere? Surely it wasn’t any of his business, and Abaven needed the herbs he had come here to collect. Oh… “Balls.” he muttered softly under his breath, and then hurried forward. Crouching down before her, and pressing a paw gently to her forehead. “Ma’m, Ma’m, can you hear me?” he asked as he felt her temperature.

Spark heard the world as if she was underwater, a voice reaching her, but there had been voices for the last few weeks... It was only when she felt a paw brush against her forehead that she jolted awake, a single silver eye rolling upwards, really both did but the corner of one was only just barely visible under the crystal growth. His words finally seemed to register and Spark tapped out her fear.
"I can." For all that was happening to her Spark's face and voice remained as neutral as always. Though her paws wrote out all the pain and panic she felt, for anyone who could read it.

Her voice was surprisingly steady, for all that she looked like shit. “Well… good.” He said, shuffling a paw and frowning at her. “I’ve, er, got you, I guess.” He said, committing to her cause with a sigh. “So lean back and let me listen to your breathing for a moment” he frowned at her again, and nudged her to lie the way he wished. His paws were firm, but gentle. Careful not to brush against the crystals growing cruelly from her cuts and eye.
He leaned forward, listening to the rattling of her breathing, and felt the head through her forehead. Just like the wolves in Armada, it presented itself almost like a fever. Despite the very obvious differences in a normal sickness. “Are you in much pain?” he asked her softly, scrambling through the bag he had snagged from Abaven with a sigh.

Spark hardly had much energy to really even feel annoyed by his rudeness, the usual fare for the wolves she'd run into outside her own small family circles. A half-hearted swipe of her paws the only sign of her frustration about it. He gently pushed her back to listen to her breathing and Spark let him, though she was usually fiercely independent she wasn't so proud not to understand she was much too far gone to handle herself and needed help. Her paws swirling slightly, in a sign of reluctance but also acceptance.
He asked if she was in pain and Spark chuckled darkly. Laughter afterall was not shameful, and so she allowed it to bubble through her in front of this total stranger. "It feels like I'm going to die, the pain is so much this isn't the first time I've passed out... " For all the laughter she still spoke with no obvious emotion to her tone. Her next words were clearly joking in nature even spoken flatly. "Am I to get to know you're name while you lay your paws on me?"

He glanced at her paws, which seemed to do nothing but fidget, before grabbing one, and gently looking it over. Hmm, well, he couldn't see any thorns in her pads or her reason for waving them all about the place. He shook his head, and finished finding his meadowsweet, before offering the herb to her. “This will help with the pain, and some of your flu-like symptoms” he explained. Should at any rate. Probably. What did he know? He was barely a healer.
“Oh, Balls! I mean, Shit, er, pardon. It’s Senryu, but you can call me Ru” He explained, her question reminding him he hadn’t even introduced himself. Just started flapping his paws all over her, like that was going to do anything. He shook his head, annoyed at his own stammering. “There's a small den in one of the hills not far from here. We should probably move you there, so I can keep you warm.” He suggested, trying to hide his awkwardness behind the decision.
