Kione was at the top of the falls, body soaking in the water, head resting on the rocky ground, eyes slitted half shut, ears twitching away a spring fly. Kione was a lover of life in playing hard but sometimes you could enjoy life by just lounging for a few hours. The dog did enjoy swimming, though as in everything it was better with others.
His ear twitched but not from a fly but a soft sound he’d heard. He didn’t bother to move for just the one sound at a distance but then the brush being moved was a strider closer. With a drawn sigh Kione opened his eyes and took a deeper breath testing the air. Whoops. Kione opened his eyes and leaped out of the pool, shaking out his coat as he stared in the direction of the tiger. “Sorry kitty, hide from my eyes, hide from my nose but I gotcha.” The words were soft with a defined note of pleasure.
Hah! The tiger was coming closer. What a stupid cat. Kione grinned, moving a few strides back from the water, and waited as the cat moved closer to wherever it planned to do its big and mighty pounce or perhaps running attack from. “Hurry up cat, I got things to do.” Like, kill it.
Sure enough, the tiger roared and burst from the brush it had been hiding from, it didn’t take long to get to where Kione had patiently waited. The dog merrily cried out in a high-pitched joy and ran, attempting to find a good spot to circle and change its position. Kione wasn’t in a hurry as a general rule of thumb when fighting cats alone you tire it out first. Kione was well rested after his bath and figured he could just about run forever. At some point, kitty would grow tired and then he’d focus on a real attack.
For now, it was only if the opportunity presented itself.
