With the chilly air ruffling his ivory fur, it was becoming more and more obvious that winter was well on its way. Because of that, herbs were going to get more and more scarce and more and more he, Imena, and all of the other healers would have to spend more time searching for them. That's what brought him out here this morning. Cael was nosing around the trees that surrounded the lake, hoping to be able to being something back for Imena's store of herbs. If nothing else he figured he could bring back some willow bark and leaves so his time wouldn't be completely wasted.

Slipping out from behind the willows with a sigh, he padded over to the edge of the lake, pausing his search to lap up some of the cold water. It didn't look like he was going to be too successful in his search today after all. Going back to the tree, he began to pick off some of the few remaining green leaves from the long, trailing branches, making a small pile of them beside him.

After being by herself for a couple of weeks, Odette was ready to be social. She had been spending her time with Chrysanthe, making their bond as mother and daughter stronger. Eventually, the two needed to return to the real world and they did so without complications. The Gargoyle mini-me had taken the time she needed to be with her mother and as she stepped back into Valhalla's buzzing pack life, she felt refreshed and eager for new adventures.
Like every morning, she had risen before the sun to watch it rise. Her personal rendezvous of the beginning of each new day made her feel lucky to be alive. She basked in the fresh rays before setting out to other parts of Valhalla. The lake was calling her name, despite the cool winds that were coming to her home. Odette's fur was already beginning to thicken, so she knew that she would be secure when it came to heat.
She didn't take long to reach the lake, where she didn't see many other wolves. Surprise was etched in her face before she realized that there was one other life form amidst the dying scenery. Her cousin, Cael, was nearby. From what she could tell, he was getting herbs together for the upcoming winter. His facial expression didn't seem hopeful, but she hoped that he would find something worth collecting before the winter killed everything.
Her slender and built frame walked across the cooling ground, tan mitts enjoying the feel of the lower temperatures. Red and blue eyes twinkled as they rested on her white-pelted cousin. Her pacing slowed as she got closer and her gentle voice called out his name. "Cael!" she happily voiced as her pace came to a halt. She remained a foot or two away from him, just because she wasn't sure how he felt about personal space. "Good morning, cousin." Her smile was radiant as she looked at him with similar eyes. "How's the day starting out for you?"
