ooc: back dated to spring
Clouds billowed in the distance, rising in great towers stained red with the light of the setting sun. In the distance he could hear the roll of thunder, the beckoning of the gods for his mothers to crossover, to join in the great hall. He knew their wish, to go up in a blaze of glory rather than be buried in an old-fashioned manner and so he had built a raft to ferry them into the next life, and piled it high with kindling. Atop it lay their bodies, nestled next to each other, cleaned and adorned in their battle wear. A bonfire lay a small distance away, keeping the starting spark nestled away within it. Offering warmth to the mourners and celebrants alike.
Úlfr stepped back from the raft and joined his ravens nearby. Around them were a number of drinks and a young elk felled for feasting. He howled a haunted tune that mixed with thunder and rolled across the sky. Any who wished to see Valdís and Ásvor off were welcome to attend.
