He couldn't stand the constant verbal abuse tempting his anger and so he did what he needed to do... but first he had to tell precisely three wolves. Raisa, Vaughan maybe, and Elsa whom he had already told (she didn't take it well either) was who he was to tell of his plans. He entered his mother's den, a small while as he curled up in the corner and waited for her to return so he could speak with her. His odd markings were covered in dirt and grime, he didn't care to wash it, there was no need to with his profession of collecting and learning.

How would she take such drastic news and more importantly, did she even care. He knew that his siblings would be overjoyed if she didn't stop him from doing what he must do. Kass just had to.

Valeriya saw her brother from afar, saw the weight on his shoulders as if the air was stone. Her eyes narrowed, curiosity and concern filling her to the brim. Slowly, her head lifted from her paws and cocked to the side. I wonder what's wrong... She stood and loped forward, her gangly limbs crossing the autumn-cold earth. "Heya, Kass!" she called out, a smile on her face. If the small boy was in a bad mood (like he usually was,) maybe she'd be able to pull him out of it. She'd found an anthill earlier, after all, and a hazelnut grove stuffed full with squirrels and mice ripe for the chasing. Surely one of those things would breath some life into the quiet, withdrawn pup her brother had become. With a breathy laugh she came to a stop beside him and asked, "Wanna go play?" It was strange being alone, just the two of them, without someone else around. Sigmarr was usually right by her side, after all, but who could say! Maybe Kass could be fun too.

He saw a form enter the den and to his utter displeasure it was his heiress sister who had arrived rather than his 'beloved mother' who he had started to dislike himself. She asked if he wanted to go outside and play? How the hell could she ask that after all she puts him through? How could she be so bold. Anger bubled in the chest of the first-born son as he rose and hissed at his sister. "What is wrong is this fucking pack. It's screwed up and I. Am. Done." He said as he stormed past his sister outside as he headed for the borders, he meant it, he was done. He'd learned some colorful language from observing Elsa without her knowledge, occasionally she would slip the word under her breathe and Kass had learned how to use it properly.

It bothered him that he had taken to learning about healing, even a bit of hunting and fighting, while his siblings played as as a boy heir he had absolutely no rights to the throne. Instead it was his stuck-up sister who took the role. It bothered him that his mother was so sexist.

Val's ears pressed flush against her skull, taken aback. "Y-you said a swear," she said, but it was not accusatory, it was stunned and weak and breathless. The spitfire fae found her tongue sticking to the roof of her mouth and her eyes watering, pressed wide and refusing to blink. Sure, Valeriya had cursed once or twice but never around someone else! The words still felt bitter in her mouth, a strange entity she suspected she would some day come to love, but for now the retribution of her elders was a bit of a damper on her verbal rebellion. "W-what do you mean?" she asked, pushing past her surprise. "What do you mean something's wrong with the pack?" How could he think something like that? It was all they had ever known! The rest of the world could be anything, but right now it was just stories, and stories were just words, and words were just wind. By done did he mean... Did he mean he was leaving? A pang struck her heart. No, her brother couldn't go! They were Xanilovs, the last of their line, they had to stick together! Right? Didn't his family mean anything to him?

His eyes burned as he continued to storm away from Valeriya as he caught her words. The burned into his skull as he turned with anger. "You all get away with everything by doing nothing! You're even the fucking heir all because you are the first born girl. Mother is sexist and doesn't take anything I do into account. I can hunt, I can fight, and I can heal and what do I get? Jack shit." He hissed out, laying his feelings on the table as he went to leave, crossing a line he should never cross. He hated them all, the puppies that were just born to Elsa and Hajime were more of his siblings than his actual ones were. "I never want you to talk to me again. I don't want to talk to Svet or Sigmarr or anyone. I'm going where people care. I'm staying with Elsa and her mate and her children. They care about me more than you ever did." He hissed out one last time as he rushed off towards the Sola's den.

As the boy ranted on, Val's eyes narrowed steadily. The shock slipped off her face drip by drip, word by word, and was replaced by a strange sort of anger. It wasn't 'I want to fight you' anger or 'I'm telling Mommy' anger, but... Indignant, 'how dare you,' anger. She ground her teeth, for the first time in her life restraining herself before she does something really bad. She knew, somewhere deep down, she would care of Kassander was gone. It would make Mommy and Mama sad, sure, and it would weaken their family line, but it was more than that too. He was her brother, and even if that didn't mean anything to him, it meant something to her. So she stepped forward, calm and cold, and let her gaze bore into his eyes, bright and hard as chips of ice. "How would you know what we get away with, you're never around! You didn't see Mommy bowl me tail over ears yesterday and the day before that and the day before that too. You were off with Miss Elsa!" She didn't realize until now that maybe that made her a little bit sad. Kass was never with them. It seemed like, from the very beginning, he never had wanted to be.

Did he even love them? Had he ever?

She felt something well up in her eyes, something warm and wet and stingy. Furious, she dropped her face, allowed her paws to scrabble at the offending orbs. Her fur had puffed up with anger and sadness stronger than she could ever remember feeling. "You never want to talk to me? As if that changes anything, you never do anyways! You act so injured all the time, but you do it to yourself! You're just mean, that's all you ever are! We tease you? Gods above, you're our brother, whether you like it or not! I didn't ask to be heir, you know, I didn't choose it any more than you choose not to. And I tease everyone! But at least when I say mean things, I don't mean them, unlike you!" She took another step forward, sobbing openly now. Her tiny chest heaved with the hurt of it all. "You want to hate me, fine! I hate you too! But at least I can sleep easy know you deserve it!" She whirled away from the smaller boy and fled the den, tiny paws pounding against the earth. She couldn't go very far, seeing as her eyes had gone blurry. She stopped behind the first big boulder she found, stepping into it's shadow and letting her tears come out, not caring that Kass could probably hear her. It's not like he cares anyway...
