Athena is out patrolling the island, the sun warm on her earthen pelt. The warming weather has brought the animals out in full force and that includes predators. Since chasing the tigress off with Albion, Athena has noticed a marked increase in predators swimming over to the island. Like that grizzly bear for example. Amber eyes catch sight of a large bear lumbering out of the water. Oh, hell no! Not on their island! Letting out a short call for help, the earthen wolf charges the large bear.

Luckily, it has stopped to shake the water from its coat and Athena is able to leap up toward its face without incident. Teeth grab hold of its muzzle and the wolf lets gravity do its work. As she is pulled back to the ground, the bear throws its head back in rage, both acts ripping deep bloody wounds into the soft tissue. A paw swings toward her and Athena has to tuck and roll to avoid the deadly claws. Springing back to her paws, the earthen woman readies to charge the angry bear again.


"Athena Nocturna"

After the encounter with the tigress Albion was trying his best to at least be more attentive to the world around him. He realized how close of a call it had really been. What if Athena hadn’t been there, what if the cat found his mother before him? The thought chilled him to the bone. He hadn’t really understood danger and death until recently, it wasn’t hard when his father kept the islands so safe. Now that Autumn was here and Winter on its way the steaks were getting higher.

Athena’s call reaches him first and Albion puts on a burst of speed to find the woman and her opponent. A massive bear. His ghost blue eyes widen in surprise, but he surges forward without hesitation. Aiming to slam against the grizzly’s side like he had when he started his fight with the tiger.

"Albion Klein"

Athena squares off with the grizzly, her scruff scrunched and bristling as she growls deeply at the intruding bear. A familiar blur of pale slams into the beast’s side and the earthen woman has to stifle a chuckle as Albion, once again, slams into the predator. His hit knocks the grizzly off kilter and Athena immediately seizes the opportunity, rushing forward to, once again, latch onto its muzzle. Teeth rip apart the tender flesh and the bear roars angrily at the retreating back of Athena. She wheels around, watching as blood pours from the open wounds on the beast’s snout. The grizzly’s eyes widen is rage and confusion, these wolves weren’t supposed to put up a fight! Athena stands her ground, ready to make this bear regret trespassing on their island.

"Athena Nocturna"

Sometimes it seemed like he used his heavier body more than his deadly claws or incredibly sharp teeth. As a pup that asset was especially helpful. He weighed much more than any other pup his age. Or older. Albion used it to his advantage right now as his pale form barreled into the massive ursine trying to shoulder in on their island.

Athena was at his side the whole time, maybe he wouldn’t have been so brave against such a massive bear on his own. She made the beast bleed, and its attention lingered on her, giving Albion a chance to show the bear his own jaws. The shearing power of the natural serration had him slicing through the bear’s hide like it was a rabbit’s. It was only a leg but it was enough to make the beast rethink its decisions.

"Albion Klein"

Athena stands with Albion, flashing him a grin before he runs in to bite the bear’s leg. Holy shit! What kind of teeth does he have? And how can she get some? Giving her head a small shake to rid herself of the random thoughts. The grizzly looks at the pale pup confused and moves to swing his unwounded leg, aiming his deadly claws at Albion. Nope! The earthen wolf is airborne before the paw can swing back far enough to strike. Teeth latch onto the large soft pad tearing it open. The bear was not expecting such an attack and, the sudden added weight causes his wounded leg to collapse under him. Releasing the paw, Athena stands near the downed bear, ready to follow Albion’s lead. If he would like huge pelt to show his father, the earthen wolf is ready to help him kill the bear.

"Athena Nocturna"

His attack almost did more to demoralize the bear than truly end its life. While he had severed skin the fesh followed after. Muscle and sinew was sheared through and the bite was somehow great enough that the limb became very nearly useless. Then Athena was on the beast. For a moment Albion truly was stunned as he watched the bear fall to the ground at their feet. Somehow the two of them bested the creature. And already having tasted its blood, Albion went into a fury. There was no mercy like there had been with the tigress. The boy went for the throat, right against its jaw. Albion wasn’t the fastest wolf, but he struck with precision and didn’t hesitate. With another devastating bite the boy severed the bear’s neck. It was only moments before the beast finished bleeding out, but by then Albion’s ivory pelt was stained dark red with bear blood.
