Fuji had toddled down to the bay where her mother had drawn out circles in the sand. They had long since been washed away with the tide or the wind, so she attempted her own recreation, more egg shaped than round, but it was hard to tell when you were so close to the ground. She sat in the middle of her circle, trying to ignore the urge to go find a tree to rub her aching head against, and tipped her head back to call for anyone brave enough to come out and face her.

“Speech”

Just move those left feet, go ahead, get crazy

"Fuji-sama"  Beru mimicked the way he thought he heard others in his pack greet people in a low, dramatic voice.  Or maybe he hadn't heard it at all and just made it up, either way the boy thought it made him sound kinda cool.  The tiny pup was drawing a circle in the sand, and having attended the spar lesson from momma, the crystalline child knew just what that meant.

In the eyes of a little kid who only knew the basics of what a spar should look like, Beru thought his littlest pink sibling had more than proven herself capable of wrestling with larger opponents.  He felt comfortable in participating in an unsupervised one on one with her, and surely momma would be happy that they were striving to become better at something she'd taught them.  Stepping into the circle, the kid lifted his paw and motioned for the little horned demon to come at him.

”Speech”  ’Thought’

Gather 'round, we can all watch the throne fall.

Fuji was about to give up hope when someone finally answered her call. Her brother’s formal greeting was met with a poked out tongue and a casually thrown “Bakaberu,” a wide smile on her face and the waving of her tail showing there was no malice behind the words. He should know better than to be so formal with her. They had known each other since before they came into this world.

Her stance widened, her front end dipping low as she tried to tuck her chin the way mumma had shown them, but her balance was a little off kilter with the extra weight bought on by the rapidly growing lumps on her head, and her chin almost hit the ground at least once, but her brother was honourable and seemed to be waiting for her to make the first move. With a wide smile on her face and her tail certainly not tucked defensively, she barrelled forward with a fearsome growl, trying to use her momentum to give her brother a good shove, jaws parted to bite at his shoulder.
