This Is The End
Cerberus

The paw stroking her back was comforting and she appreciated the gesture. As they lay there and she told him what she'd been through, he surprised her by saying that he'd lost his mother as well. A frown tugged at obsidian lips and Val's brows drew together. "I'm sorry," she spoke softly. Touch was important to the girl, so she moved her paw to settle over his larger one as if, in doing so, she could more clearly convey her sorrow for him. For them both.
Cerberus assured her that she wouldn't be alone or in jeopardy if she stayed on the island. The girl nodded, accepting his words as truth. That didn't meant that she wanted to be physically alone, however. Having him here with her made a huge difference in her mental well being and she truly appreciated him.
"Thank you for everything," she voiced her appreciation again, a huge yawn following at the end of her words. The days events had taken their toll and the girl was thoroughly exhausted. "When I'm healed enough, I'll make it up to you. You'll see." She would be the absolute best servant. She would hunt for him, guard him, do whatever tasks he had for her. Val would be his.

Cerberus kept rubbing her back gently as she thanked him. He wouldn't accept or deny what she was offering though. She didn't need to do anything for him in his eyes. Though the longer he was here beside her, the more he didn't want to release her back outside of Fenmyre. Outside of the island really. She was too young and too weak to stay out of the paws of who had hurt her. And with the fact that she wanted Cerberus' sense of ownership, he knew she wouldn't defend herself.
"Just focus on resting for now." Was all he could really whisper to her. His paw gently moving up and down on the pelt between them. The drugs he gave her would hopefully keep her out for the night and she wouldn't have to worry about nightmares plaguing her tonight. He couldn't do that for her every night though. After it seemed like she fell asleep wrapped up in the pelt, he too laid his chin down between his paws. His body was there behind her so she could lean on him, but he wasn't wrapping himself around her. And he too would fall asleep easily with that extra warmth he had been missing since he was given his own room.
Cerberus slept more soundly than he had in a while. Maybe the events of yesterday, or maybe just the comfort he found in the wolf beside him. Normally he would have been up at this time, he may have even missed his early morning patrol... The dogs were still on the porch though. They were tired from yesterday too. Cerberus would still stay there sleeping completely unaware of the life he had on the island. As if he never had duties there and maybe like he was back in his younger days just lounging in Siren's den as she cuddled him. He didn't have any thoughts other than resting.

When his son had missed his morning patrol, Chimera was a little concerned. The boy was usually rather prompt and dutiful, so he imagined there would be a reason. With so many dogs on the island, the Fenmyrian King had eyes and ears everywhere. One word to Gem and the mastiff loped off into the shadowy jungle of the inner island. It didn't take her long to return with word of his sons exploits the night prior. And there was a girl. Interesting.
Chimera made his way across the island and towards the bungalows that they used for guests. Seeing the dogs outside, it didn't take him long to find his son. One big paw pushed open the bungalow door gently and he moved within the somewhat small space. The giant man's gaze fell upon his horned boy sleeping curled behind a smaller fae, black and marked with gold. Well, he supposed that the boy was at that age...
Haunches folding, Chimera seated himself in the doorway. His gaze was fixed upon the pair and to an outsider it might look as thought he was staring hard, but there was a glint of humor in his gaze for one who knew him. "What's this?" The black and white brute rumbled, knowing that his voice would wake one or both of them.

Cerberus barely woke up as the door to the bungalow opened, though subconsciously he was aware. It was when his father's voice ran across his ears that he nearly jumped out of his skin and quickly lifted his blinking eyes to his form in the the doorway.
Cerberus rose quickly but not alarmingly, his paw carefully rubbing over Valtiel's back in case she had woken up or was alarmed by his father's presence. He stepped over her before approaching his father and nodded his head forward to go out on the porch so they could close the door. He realized how bright it was as he left the bungalow and was almost cursing at himself inside realizing how late it was and that he missed his patrol. He didn't jump to that though, he turned to his father before he could explain, "I found her outside in the cove. She was incoherent and bleeding I couldn't just leave her there." He wasn't sassing his father, but he was giving him all the information he needed. Chimera would know of Cerberus' stronger heart, it had always been a part of him. "She can't go back out there, there's a man that killed her mother and raped her." He was very blunt about it. There were no secrets between him and Chimera. He could have been acting a little defensive, but he wasn't yelling or getting agitated. He was really concerned about the pack's numbers but he would do everything he could to keep her safe here as much as they didn't really know each other.

Chimera watched as his son jumped up in a panic, one brow arching as he noted the soft strokes to the sleeping fae's back. That was interesting. Cerberus then began to explain where he'd found the girl and why he couldn't leave her there. The man listened as the boy continued, stating that the girl's mother had been killed and she had been raped. The giants brow furrowed. There was too much of that going on as of late.
"You did well, boy." Chimera complimented the quick thinking of his son. "We'll keep her safe. Her name?" If there was going to be another wolf in the pack, then he needed to know her name. He would also send word to the patrols to be on the lookout for rogue wolves snooping about. "Did she say what he looked like?"
