Is this a dagger which I see before me, The handle toward my hand?

Ichor was a yearling now, nearly an adult. Not that you'd be able to tell that just from looking at him. Ichor had been left behind by all his siblings, at least in the growth department, even Viscera who was his twin in many ways was easily dwarfing the young Klein. But well, he was allowed out without his mother's ugly bird watching over him, and immediately Ichor decided to head north, and so he did! The young man skirted the pack that bordered Habari and he kept going north... At least until he got to the lake.

Ichor's cherry and ebony gaze lit up as he spotted it. Winter was still just starting and while the chill from the ocean had reached them already he hadn't exactly ever worried too much about the long-term effects of what he was going to do, and that wasn't about to change now. Ichor let his forked tongue loll from his opened jaw as he bound down the sandy slope and into the shallows of the lake, the shock of cold water pulled a little yelp from his lips but a big grin split his face, serrated teeth flashing in the silvery moonlight, he was like a child and yet there was a sort of immature danger there too...

It hadn't been long, in this place. She knew the name, some faces... But nothing solid. Nothing that pulled her here other than adventure and striking a name off a list of places to go. Wren followed the sounds of playtime before she was faced with a curious sight. A young thing. Not exactly adult material, but also not a child anymore. She had to go out, meet folks... Only then could she settle somewhere. Hesitation was brief. She moved forward.

"Hey" she said in a friendly enough manner. Wren stopped dead a respectful distance away from the lad, her tail swaying once and then still "I haven't, err, seen teeth like yours before" she added, giving a curious look to the other canine "they're cool, actually" A strained little smile appeared, even if she was genuine "I'm Wren, by the way. I just got here a few days ago." Her tail swayed again, waiting for a reply of some kind.

She thought she had been social enough. Nice enough. Compliment? Check. Admittance of being new? Also check! What else could she do but be honest and upfront? There was nothing to hide - unless personal questions started to come up.

Ichor spotted some fish deeper in and the boy was attempting to wrap his brain around luring them close enough for him to snag some when the voice reached him. He spun on his toes, mismatched gaze landing on a young woman, taller than him, (but that wasn't hard) but she heard him talking about his fangs and his smile grew wider. Ichor, unlike the woman, had no qualms about getting closer, his tiny tail beating the air behind him. He ran his forked tongue over his fangs for a moment, feeling the serrated edges. ”Aren't they?” He puffed out his chest, clearly very proud of them.

”I'm Ichor, I'm from Habari, a little bit that way!” He gestured with his muzzle, towards the volcano that loomed in the distance. ”I like your...” He stepped closer, trying to get a good look at the taller wolf, he seemed to have no real qualms about personal space. ”Eyes!” He grinned up at her. ”They look really nice with your coat color!” It was, at least in his mind, a mostly innocent comment. He was simply returning a compliment after being given his own. His social ability was hardly as mature as his mother's or even some of his siblings but for now he wasn't interested in being anything but friendly.

It was quite clear he was young and inexperienced with how the world worked. Wren didn't want to question his, daresay, innocence. She didn't want to caution him. That was what a parent did. To him, she was just an unfamiliar face in the crowd. He blurted out his own compliment and she grinned somewhat. It felt strained to smile too much. "Thank you" the young woman replied politely "sometimes I wish I had eyes as you do. They're both a different color. Much better and more unique." She wasn't fishing for anything though. It was a simple admission of the truth.

She turned her body to the side, looking at the lake before them. "Ichor, do you know how to fish?" She had seen him looking at the depths a bit. This time, she did flash him a true smile. She approached the edge of the water "I know how to get the prey to come closer." She reached out with a paw, tapping the surface. The ripples caught the attention of some fish, who swam over to investigate. She backed away a small bit before making sure her shadow was nowhere near them. Then, she flashed a paw out. Scooping a fish from the lake, she bit the neck easily when landed.

Satisfied with her skill, Wren grinned. "Sorry, I saw you looking at the water... I thought you might be hungry." She was only trying to be nice. For once.
