Define risk?

There was nothing as fun as a good fight and Kione wouldn’t dream of depriving kids of a bit of the fun as well. With this thought in mind, he had offered to take Strix out on the hunt for predators to help improve his skills. Why not? He’d fought a few predators with the boy already and it had been proving good for him in experience. Might as well keep it up.
Kione grinned as the most wonderful predator scent in the world caught his attention. There was a lion. Now, a lion could be a lot for a beginner so Kione looked thoughtfully at Strix but shrugged it off. Kione wouldn’t allow the lion to hurt the kid and if Kione had to put his body in the way he could do it.
“Alright, that scent ahead is a lion. I’m about to rush it. I tend to take my time with them. I’ll tire them out so it's easier to kill them, at least that’s what I do when I’m alone. I’m going to keep it busy enough that you should be able to take some attacks also. Be careful though.” Kione started to creep forward, “we can go slow so there is no need to take a real risk.”
Apparently, Kione didn’t feel fighting in the first place was a risk. There it was. Kione spotted the lion lapping up some drinking water. Great, they’d have a swim afterward. Kione ran forward, his voice ringing out like a bunch of excited birds as he called out his inner rage at the lion. Family killer. The one who made him alone. They must all die. Every, single, one and preferably painfully.
