She needed to make herself useful. If the pack was in good health, then she would need to spend her other spare time patrolling, hunting, or sparring. Dusk was beginning to fall when Tenshi decided a quick patrol around the border would do her legs some good. As the sun settled behind the maze, the ground beneath her finally began to cool off. Rounding the northern bend of the bamboo stalk, she kept a cautious eye on the tall grasses that bordered the red trees of Dragon's Blood Grove. With their territory's path the only open space between the two lands, she wouldn't be surprised if there were a trespasser lingering about. Letting her thoughts wander, her large frame froze when the cacophony of cicadas ceased suddenly. With one paw lifted, she slowly eased her chin toward the shadows of the grass on her right side. Lurking not far, two beady eyes peered out at her with a glimmer of teeth as the feline crept forward. Instinctually tucking her chin to show her set of horns and flattening her ears, Tenshi let out a warning growl as she faced the tiger. 1/3 large predator fight

The growl gathered attention. Sayuri rushed from the side, slamming into the tiger. There had been no warning of her own, allowing Tenshi's call to fuel her forward. With another wolf at her side, the koi woman did not hesitate to display power. There had been no time to coat her blade with poison. She had been exploring the Maze when the tiger more or less pounced. The tiger was flung to the side, snarling. She jumped back to Tenshi's side, giving the woman a subtle nod. They would fight together, and they would drive the beast from the land! Tojo-Kai's honor and safety was at stake. Sayuri would expect nothing less than death if the beast did not flee. She growled, the thin fur along her spine rising as she advanced. Allowing Tenshi to do her thing, Sayuri lunged at the tiger head on to keep a distraction up. speech here

Before she could make a real move on the striped beast, another form rushed to her side. The patterned koi wasted no time to assist. Returning the nod with a curt one of her own, Tenshi took a few steps to the side as Sayuri worked the beast into a distraction. Listening to the rumbling and fierce roar of the tiger, Tenshi watched its movements. It appeared hungry if anything, making it hopefully easy to drive off. While she was able to slip off to the side, Tenshi waited until the tiger lashed out. With its front leg extended toward Sayuri, Tenshi leaped forward. Her teeth shone in the afternoon sun as she extended her paws. Wrapping one leg around the tiger's shoulders and the other around its chest, Tenshi latched on to its neck. Digging in her teeth, she struggled with the large feline for a few moments before letting go and backtracking enough to be out of reach. 2/3 large predator fight

It would be in the tiger's best interest to leave. It wrestled with Tenshi with Sayuri waiting for her chance. Once it provided itself, she jumped forward and aimed a whack across its face. With Tenshi leaving the tiger, leaping back, Sayuri had a split second to move. She felt her paw hit padded fur as the tiger recoiled from the fierce blow. It yowled and lashed back, but she was quicker. Ducking, she dodged it and veered to the side. A hungry cat could be stubborn and persistent. She knew this to be true. The tiger didn't seem to let up any time, so Sayuri was making plans for it's pretty coat. It would be a good line for her den, its teeth a pretty necklace! She lunged again as the tiger seemed confused about who to go for first. She aimed a bite at it's snout, becoming bolder as the fight lasted. She had practiced, even if she was no master yet. Impressed with Sayuri's tenacity, Tenshi continued to work on the tiger's side. Swiping at its shoulder and neck area, she would aim to grab ahold of its ear. The confusion and tiredness were becoming obvious in the feline's eyes. Blood began to trickle from the various wounds they had inflicted. Even as it yelled at them and flashed its teeth, Tenshi pressed closer to it. The tiger began to take a few steps back, attempting to stay out of harm's way as Sayuri landed a bite on its snout. Tenshi lashed out once more to its shoulder as her claws dug into its meat. That seemed to do the trick as the beast gave one more swipe with its paw before turning to retreat back into the grass. Stepping back to catch her breath, Tenshi let out a heavy sigh. Exhaustion seeped through her, but it also felt good to get into some real action. Turning her steely gaze to Sayuri, she nodded at the girl. "Thank you for the help," she said in placid tones before turning to continue her patrol around the bamboo. 3/3 large predator fight

It decided to flee. Sayuri gave a subtle 'tut' of disappointment as it went. She aimed a swipe at its hindquarters, tickling its rear with her paws. The tiger yowled one final time in defeat, crashing through the foliage to get away from the wolves. Tenshi turned to her, uttering thanks. The koi-colored woman smiled, flashing her teeth. "We stick together, yes?" she reminded Tenshi warmly "we are, ah, friends. Same pack. Tojo-kai." Sayuri placed a paw on her own breast, a signal of togetherness before the other woman continued on her patrol. With nothing left to do but join or go back, Sayuri would take a breather at her den instead. She called a friendly goodbye to Tenshi. /end speech here
