Where to go from here?

Lotus was a year old today, and already he felt as if his life was crumbling through his fingers. He couldn’t catch it. He’d lost track of his twin, the brother he was closest to. He’d made his way to fireside - any time he got lost in exploring, Fireside was the place to regroup. To find anybody.

Only, this time it wasn’t there. He called out the names of his family, wondering and confused he called out their names, until his merlin fluttered to his shoulders and tweeted quietly into his ear. It was her idea to head West. They had thought they were following the tracks of a wolf, until they wound up hopelessly lost in the desert. By the time they reached pack lands they where the both of them thirsty and tired enough to collapse. Frustrated and heart sore he stopped at the border. Raising his head, he let out a squeaking call. Maybe whoever was behind the border would be friendly…
