Steel and Ore Among the Runes

Vashou slowly walked along the grass flooring. Their tail shifting back and forth as they were just exploring the nearby lands. The runestones were something they had heard about. Vashou's soft pads began their quiet trek toward the middle point. Making their way into the middle of the stones slowly. They were quite fond of the light blue luminescence and he was looking for some of the luminescent moss or a smaller rock with similar glow marks that they could take back home. Of course they wouldn't try to take or mess with any of the large stones. They had no intention of ruining the scenery for others.
As Vashou made their trail, they paused and looked up at the aligned stones. The ominous blue glow countered the dark starlit sky causing them to pause for a moment and enjoy the deep contrast as it was almost magical. As he took a deep breath he stood up having left Salvador at home for this adventure he would have to find a way to take any of the moss he finds home. He of course had a few ideas. However he first needed to find a good patch of the glowing moss.

Lothaire hadn't seen anything quite like the Runestones before. Where he was from, there was nothing as fascinating as the bioluminescent stones glimmering like a thousand sapphire's before his very eyes. He hadn't trekked from the Armada's territory before now, but he wanted to stretch his limbs by exploring the lands at his leisure. Before he left, he made certain he could find his way back. It wouldn't do if Keahi had to find him again, now would it?
His attention was pulled away from the rocks when he spotted movement out of the corner of his eye. It seemed he wasn't the only one who'd come to marvel at the rocks blue glow. Lothaire didn't think there'd be any harm in greeting his fellow admirer, so he pulled away from the erect rock directly before him to move closer to the stranger. He may have been born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but he knew better than to approach anyone without first receiving clearance. "These rocks are intriguing, aren't they?" He asked, deciding to play it safe before assuming anything about the other. He gazed on with firefly yellow eyes, his head tilted just so to the side to regard the other with a curious eye.

The sudden voice seemed to snap Vashou back to reality as he tensed up for a second. His tail stiffening for a brief moment before He looked to the golden eye. His dark blue eye blinking a few times slowly acknowledging the other eye was harmless for the time being. Slowly before Vashou shifted their seated position. Too lazy to pick themself up Vashou ended up dragging their rump a bit on the ground. Scooting a little and facing Lothelle. His ore colored fur looking a bit more ominous then Vashou's layered earth palette.
He acknowledged the other with the response, "They are quite pretty, but I admit I'm curious if I could find some of the smaller stones to take home. I can't move the large ones but I figure there should be smaller ones or some form of shiny moss somewhere. " He said as he looked back to the marked stones. The view in the middle was on a different level though. On the outside you could see the stones as a seperate side but when in the middle where the blue lights aim inward the markings almost seemed to tell a story as you looked over them.

Lothaire's features twisted with mild concern when it became apparent he'd startled the other wolf. Whereas they tensed, he remained relaxed despite the obvious scare he'd caused the other. "My apologies, sir. I hadn't meant to startle you," he said, seeing no reason not to offer a sincere apology. He had not, however, expected the man to drag his ass across the ground in the manner he had. For a moment, Lothaire contemplated taking a step or two away from the other. His intentions were not to be rude, you see, but often times when a canine dragged their rear across the ground in such a manner, it meant they had worms. He maintained his composure despite his concern, however, and perked his ears forward to receive the words he'd share with him.
The wolf shared his desires to take one of the stones home with him, to which Lothaire tilted his head in contemplation. He didn't need to be told that no mortal wolf could move these large rocks, seeing as they were much too massive for anyone to even attempt to move. "Perhaps there are smaller pieces that broke off, but judging from the shape these magnificent boulders are in, I'd dare say it may be an impossible endeavor." He paused to look over to the earthen hued male, and arched a white brow over one of his yellow pools. "If you don't mind my saying so, dear fellow, you might have a better time searching if you were to stand."
The gray and black male offered a brief smile then before letting out a good-natured chuckle. "Come, we can search together for something you might be able to take home, but first I would exchange names with you. I was dubbed Lothaire Morei, a former noble from a land far from these." He offered a brief dip of his crown in greeting before moving on. "And you are?"

Despite Vashou's actions, it had nothing to do with getting worms. Vashou was just being a bit lazy about movement. Repositioning with their paws was easier then standing up and turning before sitting back down. However, Vashou acknowledged the statement of Lothaire and decided to stand. Stretching himself outward letting the other see the entire sand marking over his back as he does so. Standing back up more their tail moving to a more stable back and forth. "All is well, I should keep a better eye on things." he said as he looked up for a moment.
Vashou looked to the other wolf for a quick moment admiring how the bluish light would seem to give Lothaire an almost magical glow. However, Vashou quickly returned to reality and said, "I had no intention of getting one of the large ones, as I don't want to ruin this for anyone else. I more want one of the stones that possibly chipped off or some of the glow moss that fell from the statues." Upon realizing the other was willing to help they smiled and shook themself off real quick to dislodge any dirt.
Vashou smiles before bowing themself forward in a respectful manner. Vashou began to accept they was either in the presence of some leader, royalty, or someone with alot more class then him. So he should do his best to show some class. What little of it that was there. "My name is Vashou, as for last names, I don't quite remember mine to be honest. Quite frankly I don't remember my parents all that well. Just bits here and there. " Vashou paused a moment to shake out his head realizing he was starting to trail off once again. "Anyways, I would greatly appreciate your help in seeking out some of the moss atleast. Perhaps I can get it to grow in my den or a nearby area. "

Lothaire remained where he was when the other stood from his resting place, and dropped into a stretch. He offered a slight nod when the other revealed that he didn't want to ruin the experience for anyone else. "That is good," he agreed, offering him a small smile coupled with a slow wag of his tail. What he hadn't been expecting was the elaborate dip of the male's body into a bow. It was difficult to keep the shock from his features, but he managed to look mildly surprised.
"There's no need for such elaborate formalities, I assure you. Once I was someone deserving of it, but I bear no titles in these lands. You needn't bow for me," he said, wanting to make sure this male knew he didn't stand before someone who required other's to bow for him. While it did stroke a part of him that desired recognition, Lothaire wasn't daft enough to accept it when he had done naught to earn it. He nodded when the other revealed he didn't remember what his last name was, nor could he recall his parents. "Ah, well that is no matter. I do not need your last name to enjoy your company," he woofed, his tail offering one last wag before he turned his attention toward the ethereal blue glow of the rocks once more.
"Right, well, there may be some moss collected near the base of the rocks. We can check there, but I'm not certain if it'll actually glow or not." With that said, Lothaire padded away to assess the area near the base of the rock formations.

He nodded before he started to make his way across the floor. Moving to the base of one of the large stones. Sniffing at the floor to try and identify the smell of the moss. However, all he could pick up was the smell of old rock. The dusty smell having a small hint of something else. He paused a moment and kept sniffing at the stone his tail flicking in the air as he started to slowly follow the smell. Not sure what he was looking for. He soon pressed his nose at the ground following the trail of the scent as it got fresher.
Lost in the motion he began his steady pace towards one of the outlying stones his nose dipping into the dirt as he would soon come back up. A luminous blue substance covering his nose, he paused, "Does something smell funny to you?" he asked as he currently had a blue glowing nose.
