The autumnal rains have ceased for the moment and Strix happily trots along his huge sire. They are out patrolling the woods again since the rains seem to be drive predators into their new tree-covered land. Mismatched eyes scan the area as his nose works, trying to find any predators that should not be here. The rains masks many scents but a tiger’s musk is hard to miss. They detour from their path, moving to confront the large feline for trespassing.

As they get closer, Strix looks up to his father before silently peeling off to flank the cat. It rests on a rock, tail flicking lazily as it surveys the area, its orange and black coat a slash of color among the brown and green. The small boy crouches low, waiting for his father is catch the feline’s attention. As the fight kicks off, the boy rushes forward, short legs effortless carrying him over the rocky terrain and up behind the cat. He begins to pepper the back legs with sharp bites, vying for its attention and working to give his dad openings.


"Strix Klein"

Strix, the smallest of his sons, had been the quickest and most dedicated to learning the art of fighting and protection. Thus, Chimera made it a point to take the boy on deep patrols away from their home base. He was still very aware of the child and his well being, but he didn't have to babysit the boy. He'd earned this bit of freedom and taking him out was a bit of a reward.

The heavy rains had pushed predators and prey alike into the falls. The thick canopy of cedars forming a barrier between the elements and those hiding within. Strix had been the first to see the tiger, though they both smelled it long before. The cats had a habit of trying to mark everything. Well... newsflash, buddy. This was Fenmyre territory.

Chimera got the feline's attention with a rough growl. The cat was instantly on its feet, creeping towards the wolf with its back arched. It didn't phase the dire brute and he stalked forward himself, teeth flashing as he snapped and snarled. This was the King giving the cat a chance to run away unscathed. It didn't take it. The tiger swept out a Chimera, claws extended, the razor sharp edges just grazing through the brutes fur. With a guttural growl, Chi launched forward, closing the distance between himself and the tiger. He bit hard into its shoulder, tasting blood in his maw. In his peripheral vision, he could see Strix harrying the cat with quick attacks.

"Chimera Klein"

His father knows how to be intimidating, growling a warning to the tresspasser and the tiger quickly zeros in on the huge male. By contrast, where Chimera is loud and imposing, Strix is small and silent. The feline doesn’t even notice the streak of gray and black that races through the rocky terrain, coming up from behind the large cat to begin vying for its attention. However, it seems more interested in staying locked in combat with his father than trying to shrug off the annoying boy and his stinging bites.

Quickly, Strix adapts, racing around to the tiger’s side to leap up and take a small chunk of flesh from near its ribs. Now is when the boy starts growling, kicking up a fuss so the feline is forced to focus on him, even if it is only for a moment. Small body back peddles, getting out of range as the cat turns to swipe at him, leaving his sire a huge opening to deal the trespassing tiger some real damage.


"Strix Klein"

Chimera knew that he didn't have to worry about Strix. The boy was quick and smart. He delivered his attacks and was running away again before the cat even knew what was happening. It made Chimera proud to know that at least one of his sons was skilled. The others were rather lazy aside from Cerberus. Perhaps he was too easy on them.

Strix caught the attention of the cat and it turned its lanky body towards the boy. Chimera wasted no time in rushing forward to rip into the sensitive flesh just behind the feline's elbow. The cat made a chuff of pain and pulled away, leaving the black and white behemoth with bloody jaws. That was the injury that it took. The feline turned and began to run. It was their duty to see it out of the territory, so Chimera gave chase.

"Chimera Klein"

The small Klein boy catches the tiger’s attention and as it turns, his father rips open the sensitive flesh behind the cat’s elbow. The feline understands the danger and turns to run, Strix falling in beside his father to chase the tiger from their territory. This is when he feels the most alive, racing alongside his huge sire, showing just how strong he is.

While he may not have been gifted with height like his brothers, it does not stop him from fighting any less. He adapts, changes tactics, and overcomes… and it feels like his father sees him. All the small boy wants is make his family proud and, every time he looks on his father’s face, he wants to see pride. Maybe it is a selfish desire but it drives Strix to do better.

The tiger feels the two wolves behind it and the smaller wolf rushes up every now and again to nip at its front paws as a reminder. He never puts himself in needless danger and soon the invisible border of their territory appears. The feline breaks the line, not slowing as it flees from the two Klein wolves. Putting on the brakes, Strix slows until he comes to a soft stop next to his father. Mismatched gaze turns up to Chimera, a small grin appearing as he enjoys this time with his dad.
