Kaede really loved obsidian beach. It was just…so unique, and she always found lots of interesting things washing up on its shores. That, and every time the Bigs had a party, there was even more interesting stuff left after. It was her little curious heart’s dream, and she’d tugged along her red-pelted brother to explore it with her.
She’d instructed him to keep his eyes peeled for anything cool or sparkly, though the sparkly part could be hard considering the sand itself was pretty sparkly. But, as they ventured, something blue caught her attention. She took off at a trot, only almost tripping a few times because her big puppy paws kept getting stuck on the small drifts. But, when she reached the object, her dexterous paws reached forward to grab it, pulling it from its partially buried space. It was a glass vial filled with a glowing, shimmering blue liquid. “Whatdya think it is?” she asked Ajax, her pink eyes cross-eyed as she tried to determine what she was looking at.
Kaede has 3 companions: a male oversized Cardinal named Chirp and 2 female, bonded Giant Otters named Ping and Pong. Assume they're always around unless stated otherwise.
Mutations: dextrous front paws, a pair of water deer tusks and rings of spikes hidden under her fur on the latter half of her tail like an armadillo girdled lizard.

Ajax wasn't much of an explorer compared to his siblings, but he liked the beach a lot too! How could he not? When there was so much water about, practically begging him to splish and splash till not a single strand of fur on him was dry. But Kaede was on a mission, a very important one from the looks of it and so as her brother it was Ajax's duty to play along, to be her partner in crime as they scaled the black sand, on the sniff for anything of interest. His brown nose twitched as the pair came across something see through but full of a strange blue liquid that sloshed about. Like water, but not.
Reaching out with a paw, his kitty claws hooked on the rim of the container as he pulled it forward, letting some of the insides spill out a little. Accidentally of course, his following oops said as much.
"Hm. Dunno." It was sort of like the colour of his eyes, from what he'd seen in his reflection, but not quite. Too bright and sparkly. Not like his eyes at all actually, something else entirely. Something new and weird, a mystery right in front of them, asking to be solved. "Drink it." Seemed like the natural conclusion to come to.
