A whisper in the shadows

Kyanite moved through the network of Armada caves, her feline companion at her paws. It was much easier to see here, and her blindfold was pushed up above her eyes. She could scent other wolves around and wondered if she would be able to follow her nose to their dens. Best not, she didn’t want to stumble somewhere she wasn’t allowed and cut her exploring short.
Instead she moved through the tall cavern, looking about herself in curiosity. There was the occasional sconce casting a warm glow on the dark walls, but this light didn’t bother her as much as the harshness of sunlight. After a little bit of wondering, she realised there was a path that inclined and she took it, following the winding trail deeper into the Armada caves.

The newness of the world outside the family den has pulled Andromeda’s siblings in many different directions and, while they are excited to be let free, the purple pup is more reserved. Pale blue eyes watch as her brothers bound off, noting the excited way their voices increases in pitch as they play. The warm light of the sun is a welcome relief to the frigid cold that seems cling to the edges of the days, too stubborn to fully leave these northern lands.
As most of her siblings play out in the sun, Andromeda’s attention is pulled in a different direction, back to the cave systems where the pack’s dens lay. Small paws pull the purple pup forward as she silently follows after the retreating form of her sister. Of all the pups, Kite and Vanta were born with some strange condition that made the sun hurt their eyes. Andy does not want her sister to be alone so she follows after Kite, paws carefully picking their way through the cave system.
Kite’s cat walks with her and Andromeda trails after them, carefully observing the way they move and watch the world around them. Finally, Andy decides to join her sister, pace increasing until she is next to Kite. Pale blue gaze looks to her sibling and she offers Kite a smile as they walk.
Andy has an Eastern Chanting Goshawk named Aquila and two Snow Leopards named Leo and Gemini. They are always nearby.

Lioness nodded towards Andy, having seen the other young girl first. Kite turned a moment later, levelling her strange crystal gaze on her sibling and lifting her lips in a smile. “Bored of the sunlight?” she teased, not finding the same appeal to it that most of her siblings did. To her, freedom was found in these winding dark caves. Adventure awaited along it, she was sure.
Despite her words, she slowed down and walked alongside Andy. Moving between pup and cat as she did so. “How big do you think these caves are?” she asked softly, leaning towards her sister as she spoke.

A soft smile is on the purple pup’s lips as she approaches her sister, giving the feline a dip of head in greeting before she joins Kite. While some might find her sister’s crystal gaze unnerving, Andromeda is unfazed, instead finding that Kite’s eyes have a strange, exotic beauty about them. The words that are offered pull a soft chuckle from Andy as she smoothly falls into step with Kite, her own gentle voice saying, “Eh. It’s okay. Better in here.” Flashing her sister a grin, the purple pup wonders if Kite will see through her ploy and understand that Andy is really here to keep her company.
The pair meander through the dark caves, Kite’s soft voice speaking up again and Andy hums thoughtfully for a moment. Looking to her crystal eyed sister, Andromeda’s eyes flash with a mischievous glint as she leans toward her, whispering, “What do you say we find out?” As they approach a dark chamber, the entrance huge and yawning open before them, Andy gestures a purple paw toward it, suggesting that the pair go explore a little further into the room while lifting an eyebrow in silent question. There is no malicious intent in Andromeda’s suggestion, just the curiosity of a youth that seeks to gain more knowledge.
