Indigo’s vibrant blue eyes watched as the water of the rapids raced past right by his paws. The rocky outcropping was stained with algae and moss from the constant moisture, and the fresh scent of the life here met his nose pleasantly. The sun was hidden between intermittent clouds, it was almost uncomfortably warm when in the direct light, but couple with a dash of shade, cloud cover, and a soft breeze, it was a gorgeous day. A perfect one to be out with Aia.

He’d coaxed her into a nap under the fully leaved trees, as she got older he knew their naps together would become much more infrequent, and part of him savored this moment. He would have them forever. Indigo was stirring as late afternoon took them, and it was time to start thinking about doing their pre dinner lessons. They never really felt like learning when the two of them always had so much fun together.

The maned man let out a huge yawn as he hugged his little girl tighter, aiming to start waking her slowly from their nice sleep.

Life was perfect. No, really. There was nothing that the small girl could ask for that she didn't already have. Her family loved her, they surrounded her. She was well fed, clean, everyone was nice to her. What else was there in the world other than that?

The family had gone on an adventure to meet other family. Aia had no idea just how many wolves she was going to meet, but she was excited to do so. Perhaps the fact that she was so small, an eternal baby, had left her a little more socially undeveloped than other pups her age but she was very excited to meet everyone and hoped that they would like her.

Introductions had been made and the girl was so excited that, as soon as her father suggested a nap, Aia passed out in his grasp from sheer happiness. Life couldn't get better than this! After sleeping for a while, the gentle nuzzles and ruffles of her fur pulled bright blue eyes open. Laying on her back, little paws went up to gently grasp her father's cheeks and she placed a little lick to the end of his nose. "Hi, papa." All smiles and wags.

Indigo did everything that he could to give Aia the life she deserved. He loved her so much that he was certain his heart would explode with the expansive emotions. She was everything to him, the reason he breathed. Alsatiel had given him the greatest gift that a wolf could, and she had become his whole purpose. Aia was his little baby, and he was certain to make sure she knew just how much she was loved. He’d protect her with his life if it came to it, she was his heart. She could remain his innocent little princess for as long as she desired, and stay in his mane for the rest of his days. He would support whatever choice she would make, and just hold tightly to her as long as he could.

His little girl started to wake as he nuzzled her softly, squirming slightly before turning her belly and blinking open her vibrant blue eyes. The grin that took his features overwhelmed his entire face, blossoming with the happiness that Aia gave him. Her sweet smile and words brightened him as she said hello. He felt the quick wagging of her tail against him as she happily greeted him, ”Good morning, Sweet One.” He returned and kissed her on her little forehead. She held his cheeks as she offered the tiniest kiss of her own.

Indy chuckled softly. ”Did you sleep well?” She played hard and slept harder, Indigo enjoyed both but especially these soft sleepy moments.

Aia gave a happy little wiggle as her father kissed her forehead. He asked if she slept well and the girl considered the question for a moment, then nodded. "I think so. I don't feel tired anymore, papa." The purple puffball then rolled to her paws, stumbling just a bit in her puppy awkwardness. Good thing she was low to the ground. Tripping over her own paws, Aia thumped to the ground between her father's massive paws, giving a good natured giggle before she stood once more.

"What are we gonna do today, papa?" The tiny child tilted her head comically as she questioned the giant man. It was no secret that Aia loved spending time with her dad. He taught her things and took her places while mom stayed behind and worked for the pack. Aia loved her mother, but her heart belonged to her papa.

He didn’t believe he could ever forget the dark parts of his life, but that was the price he would pay for the mistakes he had made. As his beloved Aslatiel said, he couldn’t live in the past. Not when he had such a bright light like Aia to take care of. She was growing up too fast for his own liking, but he wouldn’t take any moment he got for granted. She would always be his baby, but like everyone, she would grow up one day. For now he’d enjoy her sweet sleepy expression and her darling innocence.

”I’m glad, you’ll have plenty of energy for the day.” Which Aia was understandably curious about. She stole his heart all over again as she tilted her features and looked up at him adoringly. Indy had to stop himself from pulling her into another tight squeeze. ”Well, we could just go have lessons, or we can go on an adventure.” He prompted to gain her curiosity. ”I lived close to here when i was your age, I thought you might want to see it. Maybe we’ll find some old garden patches.” And most certainly he would find a whole lot of old memories.

The mention of adventure immediately nabbed the girls attention. Any hint of sleepiness that may have remained was quickly chased away. Blue eyed widened and Aia gave a little hop towards her father. "Adventure!" the purple puffball crowed with delight. "I want to see where you used to live, papa."

Aia found herself wondering just what kind of place it would be. Surely there would be a lot of plants. Papa loved plants and because he loved plants, so did Aia. What else would they find in this place, she wondered? Would there still be wolves there? Is that were Papa's family lived now? There were so many questions bubbling up within her, but first they had to be on their way. The small pup did an antsy little dance as she waited for her father to get on his paws so that they could get going. It was impossible to hide her excitement. It always had been and probably always would be.
