strings & yarn

Mel had located some soft, thick ropes of yarn - perhaps remainders crafted from the alpacas raised not far from the castle. Their yarn was soft, gentle for the pelts of delicate pups. They even came in several skeins of various natural dyes - pastel violet, a richer magenta hue, and soft minty green. Wonderful colors, if she had anything to say about it. With the badger’s assistance, Laeta set up her craft in one of the lounge areas of the castle, a larger sprawling room with its crackling fireplace and plenty of surface area to work. Settling on her haunches, she looked at her spread of skeins, unwound and ready to be used. Then, she set to work, figuring out a basic plan - she would make a series of patterned stripes - blue, green, magenta. Simple enough, and the pups would be well covered on cold nights. She began by using her forepaws to start slowly but surely crossing over, winding, and braiding the yarn in a simple but well-constructed linked pattern. Essentially, she was crocheting the blanket with her paws. Mel help unwind the skein as she continued, and the blanket was soon underway. Perhaps someone else would be interested in assisting with her project, and if they did, she’d welcome them with happiness and warmth all around. ”Speech” ’Thought’ |
