A brisk wind swept over the forsaken battlefield as Incubus took his first steps into the region. Pink and blue eyes ravaged the region with genuine curiosity. The unusual Autumn that took hold of the Soulless Forest also infected this land as well. Incubus did not usually pay much mind to the supernatural but with sudden surge of fantastical familiars and their ability to alter an entire territory's climate he kind of had too. Even then when he thought he was long Inc could sense the haunting stares, as if they were watching.

Another gust of wind caused Inc to grimace. His lips formed a fine line, expressing clear distaste for the weather. It was meant to be summer. The sun shining and birds chirping. And yet, it was not. Autumn had come early, which was awful enough on it's own, but it was also before his winter coat had come in. The male had enough meat on his bones to not be a shivering mess but he was still uncomfortable. - Incubus forced his thoughts elsewhere. That mismatch gaze slowly swept the region when he noticed the wreckage around him increasing as he get deeper into the territory. Fragments of metal, horribly tattered cloth, and other foreign objects. It reminded him of the battlefield with the ancient corpses lining the earth. The quarreling of Wolves and others seemed to stain the land longer then anyone may ever anticipate.

His strides slowed to a stop as he came upon a lump covered in dirt. He pressed a paw down on the center of the mound to see if it would budge and got nothing. So he brushed gently with his paw and a small amount of dirt caked metal peeked through. An inky brow raised and Incubus began digging the object out of the earth. Unlike the other objects on surface level this thing was rather large and whole. After a few minutes and having to get that inky pelt a bit dirty Incubus had it unearthed. A helm. It was too round for a Wolf but what told him it was meant for the head is the front of the helmet. There were eye holes, the front resembled a face of sorts. The Klein took a long moment to look over the object, contemplating it. Whatever wore this thing, that creature, had once walk where he did. Yet, there was no being of the sort even inhabiting Boreas or Auster, as far as he knew. A whole species seemingly gone or moved on. It had him thinking where Wolves would be in the future. Would they always dominate these lands? Or would something wipe them out?

Perhaps it was not so depressing to think of. A being goes through their life enduring trials and tribulations to have the ability to teach the younger generation on how to improve their journey. As that being passes another has the ability to use what they left behind and the cycle continues. On and on. Incubus wondered what his ancestors were like. Both mother and father told stories of their Klein lineage. The Emperors and Empresses that bolstered the Klein name. These thoughts brought him to his parents for a moment. Where was his mother? Was she alive? A shiver went down his spine as he thought of Deathbelle dead. A frown came across his lips as his eyes stung ever so slightly. A sensation he had never felt before. Incubus was overcome with sorrow but no tears fell. He needed to go check in on his family sooner then later, to see what they have become.

Incubus shook his head slightly as another breeze brought him back to the realm of the living. Blinking away the sensation in his eyes the beast took his paw and brushed off more dirt from the helm. He considered it only a moment longer before deciding that it would be his offering. Perhaps it didn't have physical pertinence but it made the boy truly think for the first time in what felt like years. Incubus didn't know if the familiars or whoever they serve would understand the meaning behind it but it was honestly the only object that meant anything to him. He had only just returned recently and didn't have much to offer to anyone. No relationships, nothing. Incubus rolled his lips up in agitation. This flick of emotion was pointed inward. He didn't wish to be another meaningless corpse in the ground, he was meant to be more.

With the helm fastened between his teeth Incubus carried on with his walk. He remained low and slow allowing himself to enjoy the peace. Another autumnal breeze swept through him and he shivered gently. The metal was could on his lips and the air tasted unnatural. Now that he wasn't so wrapped up in his thoughts he was able to observe the world around him a bit more clearly. It was like that small breakthrough was what he needed to wake up.
