That afternoon, she found herself making her way towards her favorite spot in the lounge to look out her favorite window in the castle. But as she went to cross the hallway, just as she had done dozens of times before ... for one reason or another, Talyssa was compelled to look to her right, peering down the hall with quite a few doors to rooms that were unknown to her. She hesitated a moment, debating within the confines of her mind which she would actually prefer doing. Explore the castle? Or admire the gardens? It only took a few seconds to decide, as it wasn't really even a contest. Clumsy paws carried her down the hallway that she had just noticed. Though, before she could cover any amount of distance, she came to the first cracked open door on her right. With a hefty shove, the heavy door creaked open enough to give her plenty of room to enter.

What she noticed first really interested her. There were cots lined up on either side of the aisle. It kinda reminded her of the Great Hall in a sense, with windows lining the exterior walls to provide a view into the courtyard, rather than the ocean and plains. The room was full of earthy scents. Some sweeter, some spicy, and some bitter. She had gotten lost in the ambiance as soon as she entered the Infirmary, she hadn't quite taken notice of the details towards the back of the room that would cause these scents. But it vaguely reminded her of the greenhouse outside. Very curious indeed.

Truth be told Emile didn't usually spend much time in the infirmary. He had his own little window garden and hardly interacted much with the other healers, he had no real reason to, there hadn't been much need for their talents since the last raid... Back when his father had still been here... So he mostly kept to himself and especially didn't feel the need to bother the other healers of the pack, they probably would have just seen him as a nuisance anyways. But he'd been trying to figure out ways to preserve things better and borrowed a few jars sometime earlier, his attempts had all failed and so he'd made sure to clean the jars but hadn't really found the willpower to make the trip all the way down to return them. The last thing he wanted was to bump into anyone...

Finally the part of his mind telling him he had to make sure he returned them won out and so the young man made his way through the castle, doing his best to fade into the shadows whenever he was at risk of being spotted by another wolf. When he got to the room he noticed the door was ajar and an internal war started, he didn't really want to have to explain why he'd held onto the jars for so long but he also didn't really want his trip to be in vain.

Taking a deep breath the sandy man pushed his way into the room. "Ssssssorry for the de-de-delay I've brrrrought-" He started before his gaze fell on one of the new pups running around. He'd seen them from the hallway of his room from time to time but he'd yet to find the courage to approach any of them, which was fair he didn't have the courage to approach even his own sister. He stopped short, half in the doorway, and the words dying on his lips. Emile liked children in theory but for all his social awkwardness around wolves his own age, he knew even less about how to handle children. They were just another reminder of what he'd never have, what no one would ever want with him...

Talyssa had allowed her attention to linger outside the window in the courtyard for a long time before withdrawing back to herself. Blinking rapidly for a moment, her focus realigned toward the back of the room. She saw a desk, but behind it shelves of organized plant matter. Some she had recognized from out in the greenhouse- her pale blue eyes catching the dried Lavender stalks that Mercury had named to her. Like a moth to a flame, she began to gravitate toward the back of the room. But just as she had made her way about halfway down the aisle, a disturbance at the entrance of the room caught her attention.

Tawny and white ears flicked at the man's voice, though the tone of voice did not match what she might have thought it would have sounded like. She listened with interest as he initiated an apology, which puzzled her further. "Why are you sorry?" Lyssa inquired gently. After a moment of hesitance, she offered him the warmth of a friendly grin. "You don't have to be!" She attempted to reassure him.

This man smelled like the Hollows, but she didn't recall ever having seen him around. With the blazing curiosity that she carried with her always, she pressed on, cutting to the chase. "My name is Talyssa. What's yours?" She asked with intent, but made a special attempt to use a softer voice, as she was afraid she might scare her new friend away.
