It was an easy walk out to the near by gardens from the castle, her pace a calm stroll as she took Ciaran out for a walk through their nearby lands. The castle almost felt too quiet now that her family that had been staying with them had made their way back to Boreas, but in a way she was thankful for the break and the opportunity to spend more one-on-one time with her children. The first part of their lives had been full of so much turmoil that it was nice to be able to slow down and enjoy the last remnants of Auster's spring. The gardens were lush and full of green foliage, the leaves and grass slightly damp from a spring shower that had passed through earlier in the morning. She smiled as she glanced down at Ciaran when they reached an intersection in the garden's stone pathways. "Which way do you want to go?" she asked the dark, blue striped boy while she attempted to peek around the tall bushes to see if she could make out anything that might be in the path ahead. "Do you think left or right will be more interesting?"

Kea just loved to be included in whatever his parents were doing. Leaving the pack especially was a big adventure, and he looked about him wide eyed and curious as he followed after his mother. He felt like he was still figuring out his place. He tried hunting for a while, but it wasn’t his thing. Maybe he’d enjoy exploring a little more? Certainly his siblings liked it, and going on adventures with them was one of the highlights of his day. He had fighting too, of course. Fighting would always be the best thing as far as he was concerned. Surely he would earn his sword any day now?

Distracted by his thoughts and the world around him, he almost walked into his mother when she stopped and paired down at him. Seeking his choice in their direction. He blinked up at her, and then his face split into a grin. His tail wagging behind him. He took a closer look around him, taking in the wild sprung garden. Tally would love it here. The scent of wild things was thick in the air, and he sniffed, seeing what that would tell him. He didn’t know much about the plants around him. “Oh, let's try left, for sure!” he said, pointing at the denser foliage. Difficult means more fun, right?

A little grin tugged at her lips as she watched Ciaran contemplate their next direction, her son enthusiastically deciding that they should head left. She looked up and peered down the path that lead through thicker, more vibrant foliage and nodded, giving him one more glance with a soft chuckle. "Left it is! Lead the way, my little adventurer!" She gestured with one tawny paw for Ciaran to go on ahead of her and she kept an eye on the path ahead of them as she followed closely behind so that he could choose their path but she could make sure that where he was heading was a safe one and she could easily pull him back if needed. The garden over all was a pretty pleasant and safe place to be, but anywhere not claimed by the pack always had the chance of having some kind of predator or some other wolf with more nefarious intentions lurking around. Briar wasn't the type to think danger was around every corner, but she knew better than to not be at least a little cautious outside of the borders of her home–especially when one of her children were in the mix.

Gradually they wound their way through the twisting and turning paths of the God's Garden, passing by overgrown bushes and plants of all kinds and passing over broken and cracked stone paths. Some of the stepping stones and paths were more whole than others, some clearly showing their age while others were perhaps more sheltered by nearby trees or shrubbery. "Would you like to pick some herbs and flowers to take back to your aunt Gwyn while we're out here?" she asked, nodding to a patch of marigolds that was flowering just off of their path. "I'm sure she would love a bundle of those." She didn't know enough about healing to call herself a healer, but she still remembered a few basics and some of the more well known herbs from when she was a pup and Marigold had done a valiant effort at teaching her those kinds of things so she could at least spot some of the more distinctive plants like the bright orange-hued flowers.
