Kipling sat on the edge of the plains and where the large expanse of water started.  In front of the pup were a lot of sticks, some twine, and a rock large enough that it would take some work to fit into a pup's mouth.  Next to the boy was a fossa, it resembled something between a miniature cougar and a mongoose with its tawny coat and long body. A falcon dove down, within  a few feet of the ground before dropping another stick to the pile and flapping its wings to once more gain height.

Kipling had a tendency to have his weight shifted to the left side of his body at all the times, compensating for the missing back limb.  His front paw easily scooped up one of the sticks, wrapping some rope about it with confidence.  Starting seemed easy enough.  The boy imagined making a cage for fish to swim into.  How hard could it be, right?  Kipling wasn’t sure how many sticks he’d need, how much rope, or how big the box should be but he’d figure it out.  Mom and dad surely could tell him but Kip didn’t need help.  He’d get it all on his own!

She had wandered out in the plains by herself that afternoon. Everyone back at the castle seemed to be occupied in one sense or another. So, it seemed that she would be on her own as far as it came to entertaining herself. Though, she had lost track of which direction she ended up walking, and didn't realize she was coming upon the beach until she cleared a ridge and saw the twinkling surface of the ocean in the distance. Even still, that wasn't what captivated her attention. Talyssa's pale blue gaze came to settle on the small monochromatic form of a vaguely familiar pup- one of her younger cousins that she knew of, but did not actually know yet.

He seemed to have some other companions with him, and they seemed centered on crafting something. Though, she could not tell what. It was just some sticks and some rope, after all. But with an inquiring mind, she couldn't help but to approach, introduce herself, and investigate exactly what was going on.

When she got in earshot, she cleared her throat to make way for her voice. "Hello!?" She called out at the edge of earshot. She hustled to close the distance, but once she could speak more freely, she offered her name. "Hi, I'm Talyssa." The Carpathius girl announced. "What are you making?" Perhaps she could help, for as it stood, his pile of sticks wasn't that impressive.
