Time was a fickle thing to Kuroo. He had sworn that it had just been yesterday that he had last seen Sverre. To him, the man was mysterious and Kuroo was still hitting himself on the head for messing things up. Royally messing things up. His flaws and phobia of commitment really had gotten in the way, but he wanted that to change. His brother was happy with Kunai so didn't he deserve to be happy too? It wasn't that he was trying to one-up Usagi, that wasn't how their brotherhood worked. No, no. The feeling welling up in Kuroo was more... of a jealous feeling. Envious even that his brother hadn't been stupid enough to push the other boy away.
So here he was. Traipsing through the snow like a fool in search of that fiery blue man. Ice clung to his pelt and his paw pads while his teeth chattered on this particularly snowy day. Upon his shoulders, his small Tamarin companion rode, clinging to his fur as if her life depended on it. "I know it's a long shot, but maybe he can rescue me again..." Kuroo whispered to his companion, a half smile on his lips as he stood at the river's edge. A thin sheet of ice covered it as snow continued to fall in swirls around him. Maybe he would make a fire in the meantime to warm up.

Sverre was colder than he wanted to admit. Had he softened being down this far south? His coat had seemed a bit thinner than he was used to this time of year. By now, as the ice and snow covered the ground and the river froze with a thin sheet of ice, he would normally have much thicker of a coat, but he would also be nearly up to his elbows in freshly fallen snow. Life was much different here and he had started to wonder if this would even be a good home. He hadn't seen that other man since that day at the wall, but he supposed he shouldn't expect much. He had gone through a lot and Sverre knew he was silly to think the man would want to tread far from his home.
He sighed as he paused in his journey to shake the snow from his pelt and enjoy a short break. He didn't know where he was going in all honesty; home maybe? Where even was home anymore? He wasn't even sure he knew the exact way back to his homeland. Maybe this was home now, or well it would have to be at least.
"Go find us something for a fire, I'll look for something to eat," he hummed to the puffin and fox and they parted. Sverre wasn't searching long before he found tracks, but they weren't what he was hoping for. Another wolf. He frowned, but it only lasted a moment before he noticed the scent. Uncertain at first, he buried his nose into the pressed snow. Kuroo.
At first he was excited, but almost immediately he wondered what he was doing up here. Didn't he live farther south? Brows furrowed as he followed the trail cautiously. Surprisingly, the man had only settled a short distance from where Sverre was planning on starting a fire. He paused some paces behind, noticing that he was alone as well, except for that little Tamarin on his back. "Hey."

Entranced by the flowing water beneath the thin sheet of ice, he was oblivious to the approach of Sverre. Feeling as if he had already been standing there for a century, nearly frozen solid and shivering until his bones rattled, he was not the one to hear those steps grow near. It was the tightening of his Tamarin's grip in his fur as she huddled closer and peered over her shoulder that drew his attention. Glancing up with wide eyes, a look of surprise crossed his face as he heard that soft 'hey'. As quickly as he could, he stiffly turned to look that blue and fiery man over. His Tamarin would take off into the trees as soon as Kuroo began to shuffle closer.
Feeling all sorts of awkward and excited and relieved and so many other feelings, Kuroo smiled. Shifting his weight from one paw to the other, he started forward before hesitating. Would Sverre welcome him into his arms like before? Or had their meeting at the wall only been a fleeting moment? "Hi," Kuroo began as he cleared his throat and tried to settle the shiver that continued to roll through his body. Living so far south had made him intolerant to even this cold. "I-I was hoping to find you here," his voice is soft and quiet as he looks down at the snow and then back to Sverre. Taking a few more steps closer toward him, Kuroo smiled again.
