The beach had begun to feel rather crowded with all the pups that were now invading the space. For a short while, he and his siblings had been the only ones. Now it was Sparrow's pups and Eden's pups as well. If his parents had been better parents, they would've set up more play dates with the others, but alas, they hadn't so the only other pup outside of his siblings that he cared for was Ajax. As of late, he felt that something was a tad off with the other boy so with a random streak of wanting to be nice, Scald dragged his fiery-coated friend out to a nearby prairie. Ducking down behind a large boulder, his bi-colored gaze peeked out over the top. Twilight was settling along the horizon so the many different animals that made home here were settling in for the night. A fresh blanket of snow had fallen on their journey away from the beach so the lines of animal tracks were easy to follow. Shivering quietly to himself, Scald admired the white expanse of the prairie. Peaking through the drifts of snow where dull colored blades of grass, bare bushes hanging on for dear life, and darkened openings of burrows for various critters. Not far off, a herd of deer lingered, driving their muzzle through the snow to get at the best blades of grass. Scald's attention turned to Ajax for a moment with a wry smirk. "You hunt, I'll watch," he offered as he had a feeling that his friend just needed a few moments to be ruthlessly careless.
