Morte was having a lot of trouble getting around and Widow had noticed that Phantasm enjoyed riding around on Medusa as well as herself also. She had wanted something like a satchel before to carry various things around on her travels, but she had never really gotten around to making one. She had a lot of down time now and with Morte likely benefiting from having a little pouch to ride around in, Widow decided that today was the day that she would start putting something together.
Carrying herself to the pack stores, Widow chose a few pelts carefully and carried them back to her den where the rest of the supplies she needed already remained. With a fish bone needle and thread made from plant material and the prepared pelts, it wouldn't take her long at all to craft something for Morte to ride around in. If she were successful, perhaps Medusa would want something similar for Phantasm as well. If not then it wouldn't matter, but at least Morte would get the benefit of not needing to walk around when her paws were hurting. It seemed like it was happening a lot more often lately as the girl got bigger, but thankfully it didn't seem she would be afflicted with her own height. Some of Medusa's pups were already leaps and bounds over Morte, so at least her little girl had that going for her.
Folding and maneuvering the pelts around until she found a position she liked, Widow carefully started to sew the pelts together to create a single large pouch area. A sharpened stone was then used to cut any extra material that wasn't necessary at the seams before she began working on making straps to fix the satchel like pouch around herself. It required cutting a few shorter strips and sewing them together, but she didn't mind the work. It gave her something to do and these days, she wasn't going to complain. She just wanted to be helpful; Medusa had done so much for her despite having no reason to.
After a while, she finally had the pieces sewn together and attached to the pouch she had made. Made with two straps, one she could step through and one that went around her neck, the pouch situated at and underneath her chest. Thankfully Morte wasn't very heavy and Widow was more than tall enough to carry a back between her forelegs to carry her beloved daughter around. Holding the pouch up to give it one final inspection, she decided to try it on and see how it fit. After a bit of maneuvering, it seemed to fit well enough. Now just to find her daughter...
