Sverre had the idea of taking Kuroo to see the northern lights for a while, though the timing never seemed right. He wanted everything to be perfect after the things he'd been through, so he even took the time to pack a small picnic for their show. He doubted that Kuroo had ever seen something like it before considering he lived literally in the opposite possible location, but wouldn't be upset even if he had. He just wanted to spend time with the pale, piebald man and this seemed like as good an idea as any. Besides, the long travel from Auster all the way up to the northern reaches of Boreas would make for a fun journey in itself. He was almost thankful the other man lived so far away, giving them plenty of days of travel and nights together.

Even as they got to the place he had picked out for the northern lights viewing he knew that it wasn't over yet. He would accompany the man back home of course, so their trip had really only made it to the halfway point. This was arguably the best part of the trip, but maybe there would be other exciting things to happen... if things go to plan, anyway.

Carrying the basket as he walked alongside Kuroo to the old frozen structure at the farthest point north, he grinned around it's handle as the arrived. "Here we are!" He said, voice muffled by the basket in his mouth and his grin. Setting the basket down, he got to work pulling the blankets out and setting the food out for them. It was cold, Sverre had left plenty of supplies here for a warm fire before he'd gone to retrieve the man he couldn't stop thinking about.

It took him only a moment to spread out the blanket so that Kuroo could relax before he got to work on starting the fire. It was pretty easy for him considering his background, but he was nervous and fumbled a bit. Finally, the fire started and Sverre could rest down on the blanket to start pulling their meal out. The lights would be starting soon, but there was no real sense and waiting on them as he set out their food. It was mostly strips of cooked meat and fish, as well as a few sweeter fruits and berries he'd traded with a rogue.

Sverre settled down next to Kuroo on the blanket with the food spread out before them and smiled loosely over at the other man. The lights were starting to fade in, starting dim at first as they danced around the sky in hues of blue and green, brightening and growing with every moment. Sverre looked up at them in familiar awe, remembering watching them all the time back in his homeland. He doubted Kuroo had seen anything like this if he lived so far south, but maybe he'd seen the southern lights somewhere? He'd only heard of them from other travelers, unable to catch sight of anything like this anywhere else.

"So what do you think? They're called the northern lights. I used to see them all the time in my homeland... they remind me of home, actually." He said with hesitation as he looked away from the dancing lights to Kuroo, wanting to take in everything he was seeing but more interested in the man and his opinion on this impromptu date. The northern lights may remind the rough man of home, but he knew that he wanted Kuroo to be his home now. Bringing him here and basking him in the beautiful lights, it was like having the best of both worlds. As the colors reflected down on his pale coat, Sverre allowed his eyes to wander briefly but only until the other man answered him. Maybe Kuroo wouldn't like the lights? Was the trip this far north even worth it to him? Sverre looked back up at the sky himself, watching as the colors danced and spread over them for as far as they could see. It was a good show tonight, but he still couldn't help but worry. If Kuroo didn't like this, what was he going to do about the rest of their time traveling back? There was more than just this night riding on their trip; Sverre wanted more with the other man that he couldn't stop thinking about. His heart was beating nearly out of his chest as he sat beside the other man, hoping that he was enjoying the lights as much as he was. He hoped that if Kuroo rejected him, the lights wouldn't lose their luster to him. It was a silly thing to think about, but his mind was racing as fast as his heart and the longer they sat under the lights, the more nervous he got. He wondered if Kuroo could tell.
