Another Day Another Patrol

The lambing had gone well this year, with a surprising number of triplet births for such a primitive breed. Many were bucklings, so there would be a lot to harvest come late fall when they reached good weight and the pastures began to die back, but enough doelings to replace the ewes that were past their prime years and would be harvested as well. She was putting a lot of thought into expanding to other livestock, perhaps another breed of sheep or maybe, as Ardyn had suggested in hopes of her taking the goats off his lands, goats for milk and cheese products. She hadn't decided yet, and would put it to the pack for suggestions and concerns when she had thought about it more. Besides, she needed to expand Avalon itself yet. Not only had they not gained more members, she'd in fact lost Sans, the most experienced with herd animals next to her. How best to set about encouraging more wolves to join? She wasn't sure - perhaps she would need to set her members to actively recruiting. They all needed to get out more, that was certain. Sighing and shaking her head, she continued on her circuit of the pack's territories, patrolling and keeping watch for signs of any sort of predator incursions.
