A light drowning

Kuroo was in his hut that stood permanently on the shore of the bay. With the help of his Tamarin, they worked focused on fixing a section of net that the dolphins had yet again ripped through. He was rather done with those pesky water creatures and wished they would get that the bay was his, was Tojo’s now, and he wasn’t going to allow them to keep taking the fish from his nets. Grumbling under his breath as his Tamarin took the net from his paws, he was quickly distracted by the sound of excited yelping echoing over the shore.
Both of his ears perked as he peered from the doorway of his abode. His pale gaze watched the pup who splashed and played in the water. At first, a smile graced his splotched lips as he enjoyed the sight of someone else enjoying the bay. Noticing that it was one of Sedna’s new pups, Kuroo began to stand so he could make his way over and offer to play with the pup. His pace suddenly turned into a full out run as the pup’s head dipped under water.
Don’t drown, oh please, don’t drown! Kuroo’s mind screamed as he heard the frantic call for help. There was no hesitation in his movement as he pushed into the waves and began to swim over to the boy. Dipping beneath the surface, he reached out to try and grab ahold of the pup and bring him up enough so he could breathe.

Successfully nabbing the boy between his jaw before the pup could drown, Kuroo let out a muffled yip once they were both safely above the surface. He silently thanked the gods that he had been there to save his potential half-brother. They weren't safe just yet though as the young pup began wiggling back and forth excitedly as he exclaimed a greeting. Letting out a grunt, Kuroo twisted his body and began to paddle them back to shore. Even as Alvar asked to swim farther out into the bay, Kuroo continued until they were safely back on the sand.
Setting the boy down, he looks at the bundle of wet fur. "I saved you, didn't I?" Kuroo replied with a laugh as he reached a paw up to pat the pup on top of his head. "How about I teach you how to swim? Then we can race to see who can swim the farthest?" His pale eyes twinkle with some mischief as he plops his body down to lie on the sand for a break before their next activity.

Kuroo loved the excitement that radiated from the pup. A chuckle lifted from his chest as the pup bounced around. Sand kicked up everywhere, so much so he had to squint slightly to make sure none got in his own eyes. "If you think you're up for it, yes" Kuroo confirmed with a nod of his head as the pup rested his paws against his. "Now, before we get in the actual water, I just want to give you a warning," he pauses as he watches Alvar to make sure the pup is listening. "If, for any reason, you start to get scared, don't. Fear will kill you faster than the water will. There are fish and plants beneath the surface and they will touch your legs so don't worry. They're friends as much as they are food. Got it?" His smile doesn't leave his lips as he slides beneath Alvar's weight and stands to his paws.
"Swimming comes naturally to wolves so you'll get it in no time," Kuroo heads to the shallows where the water isn't so choppy. He heads in until Alvar is up to his chest. "Now, you want to stay calm while you paddle. Once your paws come off the ground, move them up to the surface and then push down. Almost like you're running," he stands back to watch and see if the pup can figure it out.
