Their mother was very good at giving checkups. Both to the puppies, and to any patients that needed it. Wylan had watched her work, and now he wanted to do the same thing. It looked like a lot of fun, right? He figured you were supposed to use your senses. Look, feel, touch, listen, and all that. But mostly he was going to be making this up as he went.

He trotted through the clearing around their little house. There were markers up to make it easy to find their way home, and a patio with a fireplace, as well as a couple tables for collecting herbs or what not. Here would be where Wylan did his work. He cleared his throat, and looked about himself for a sibling he could practise on.
