winter has set in with cold, unyielding relentlessness, bringing with it cold toes and constantly snow-laden fur. as the harsher weather descends, Dulla can’t help but wonder at her own loneliness. perhaps she should’ve taken the plunge seasons ago and sought the company of a pack. after all, she was to be three soon, with nothing to show for herself other than a near-drowning. perhaps she is being self-pitying; at least she’s still alive, and not the delicate little acolyte her parents had been determined to make her.
at least she knows the truth, now: her family’s religion is all bullshit, an excuse to grasp tightly on the family leash in the name of holy enlightenment. as the months have progressed, Dulla has grown increasingly spiteful of her family and the pain they had inflicted upon her. her wounds have healed, albeit crookedly, and now all that remains is anger and a simmering resentment for the people who had been meant to care for her. fuck them all.
